    They are killing off Archie

Looks like Archie has embraced the Marvel/DC "Event" playbook with gusto.
Since 1941, comic book fans have followed the exploits of teenaged Archie Andrews and his friends. This July, they’ll find out how he dies.

I think the Punisher shoots him.

and he comes back as a Zombie.

I heard Reggie goes in Archie's body for a year, then Archie will be back in time for the movie.

      I'm liking the bottom cover.

Mina is the world's first Paranormal Petsitter in the new middle-grade book series by Gary Buettner, MONSTER PETS, coming in FALL 2014 from EMBY KIDS. Spooky adventure that's perfect reading for kids 8-12

I may be in the minority here but I'm LOVING what the gang in Riverdale has been up to lately. They're exploring new realms and worlds WITHOUT throwing out the baby with the bathwater. The classic comics continuity STILL exists for those that want it.

And here I thought it would be an STD that got him.

I read today that Archie's death will be tied to an assassination attempt on recently-introduced character Kevin Keller, now a senator.

I did get the Keller GN, but all this saddens me somehow--like the New 52, etc.

Don't worry. I'm sure we'll find out it was all just a dream.

Comic book characters never die, they just get rebooted.

I have to say, the folks currently running Archie are doing a great job. Within the past few years I've bought more Archie product than I ' ve bought in my entire collecting life! The Afterlife with Archie zombie series is well done with great art, there have been a number of spectacular variant cover editions that are relatively easy to get, the Fox series was excellent, and yes, there's still an original universe out there that apparently doesnt confuse anyone.
And some of the stuff I here coming up, like the Sabrina horror comic and the Dark Circle hero revamp sound good. DC could take s few marketing lessons from them!

I've never read an Archie comic. At least not that I remember. So yeah, I don't have any foundation for an opinion either way, but I find great humor in this for some reason. It's like someone is killing off Ziggy, Dilbert or Richie Rich. I'm sure there's some great stories in there somewhere over the years, I've just never had any interest. I'm probably missing out.

Couple this with Marvel's announcement this morning they are turning Thor into a woman and this has been a comedic comic day for me.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

I read this and cared for like a second, then it went away.
