    I miss Castaway products....

Last night I put together a figure from all Castaway parts and have to say, I really do miss their products and great quality.
David and Jason, I hope you guys do come back to the hobby, otherwise, I'll really cherish the stuff you guys brought into the fold and thank you for raising the bar on quality and great product.

I loved the different colored superhero vinyl heads. I wish I would have bought way more of those.

^ Paul, I used the light blue one last night and mounted on a Flatt body. Talk about PERFECTION. I too wish I got more hero heads. All I have left is a black one. And an Achmed head as well.

Yep. At MMeet '11, I must have had a handful of multi-colored heads, and put them back because I wasn't sure who they were going to be for, and thought, "I'll just buy 'em online". Ugh...

I really regret missing out on those, too.

The blue one would have made a nice Atom.

Absolutely. I loved their bodies so much... (wait... that sounds racy...) and their soft hands (yep... definitely sounds wrong...)... and their little outfits (ok, I give up...).

What I'm trying to say is they make great products... and apparently, I may have a little bit of a man crush.

Funny to see this thread, because yesterday I received a box from Apositive, and it had 3 CAW heads, 2 CAW, bodysuits, boots, and gloves.
My kids were having fun changing the clothes around and making their own heroes!

That was a great lot,b89! My kids really dig the make your own hero- captain action approach. Very sad not to have CAW in the mix anymore. Tho, looking at the vinyl emblem thread, I don't think they can stray too far away from toys. Thanks for all the good stuff CastAway!

I wish I had bought a few Achmed heads when they were $2.00 each.

It goes without saying, I LOVE Castaway. The Phantom was their flagship character and that entire collection overlooks my office every single day with Chris' wonderful artwork on display. For all the stuff I have collected in my 48 years of life, I believe this line is my most cherished. Great design, great outfits, and the ONLY company to ever do a serious line of merchandise on this character. It will never be topped. Great memories, great product, great people behind this company. I wish them the very best and hope one day the phoenix rises once again from the ashes. Castaway has EARNED the right to be here.

The bodies were the best and it irks me that I didn't buy 100 of them.
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

I loved Castaway's stuff. The bodies were well made, and had a nice weight to them. Their prices were more than reasonable, and their outfits were very well made and well fitting.

It's just a darned shame that they went through the c r a p that they did, and had to close up shop.

If they ever come back into the customizing business, I'll be there with bells on, buying stuff.

It goes without saying I miss Cast-A-Way. It was a great thrill and honor to add a tiny bit to such great product, and work with real innovators like Dave and Jason, who also happen to be good people. Definitely the highlight of my freelance work so far.

The mind boggles at what could have been. I know a bit of what they wanted to do, and it would have been nothing short of awesome.

And you've got me curious as to what they wanted to do that was so awesome.

I was hoping that they would start producing their own female figure to go alongside with Doc Mego. It might have been fun comparing the two to see which held a stance better, or was better detailed.
