how much does a purple outfit captain action sell for

I have a complete captain action in great shape in the purple outfit. I was asked for pictures of it for the latest Michael Eury book. I haven't seen the book so I'm not for sure mine made it in there or not. The inseems on the costume have come loose.

I don't see a credit for anyone on the purple suit in the Eury book. He does have a pic of a Cappy in the box with a purple suit in there, tho.

That's a very rare item you have there Jason. I would hazard to guess $200 plus loose. There's no telling how much he's worth boxed and complete. I'm afraid I would be under guessing to even offer a figure. That's valuable enough I would probably ask Mr. Eury himself for a obtainable market price. That's a Holy Grail item for diehard classic CA collectors.

Thanks guys. I don't have the box but everything else is there I believe. I'm going to check him out today. I'm thinking about selling him. Just so I know I have the right figure, it's a standard captain action outfit where the blue portion of the suit is purple right?

Correct.. It's a super-variation, nice ones are rare.

          MIB41's correct on the value.

Personally I typically stayed with the standard blue version.

It would be nice if the re-issued ones now would have a purple variant.

If he has a one peice head/neck he is the 4th issue CA from 1968.
If he has a two piece head/neck he is from 1966-1967.
This way you can tell if he's the 4th version CA or not.

Levyguy do you have any pics of the 1 piece vs 2 piece head and neck? Are you saying to be correct the purple outfit needs to be on a 4th version CA? Thanks

According to the Eury book, the purple suit is found in the 2nd ed. boxes. - non parachute boxes with the blue Lone Ranger in the upper right.

Here are some pics of the early vs. late neck/head styles.
