Boxed AHI Wolfman Real or Fake?

This is a hidden auction I had on my Watchlist all week. It came down to the last few seconds and I was going to bid, but still had my doubts.

eBay - New & used electronics, cars, apparel, collectibles, sporting goods & more at low prices

I know the AHI monsters came in boxes, but are extremely rare. This box looked a little too perfect to be real. Not to mention the Zero Feedback Seller.

The little tab that holds his head made it seem a little more convincing.

    Well, waddya think?

Fake. The "Wolfman" font looks like it was created on a computer using a font program, the creases look like a custom box rather than an old box, and the box style looks more like the Mego boxes right down to the "Collect all the Super (Mego boxes have the word 'Mad') Monster Cards" at the bottom.

(edit - Toyroom beat me to it!)
Nostalgia just ain’t what it used to be.

Did any of the monsters besides Dracula even have a window box? I thought all of the other AHI Monster boxes were solid without a window.

Boxed AHI Monsters seems to be a real grey area. I've yet to hear much definitive information.

The only boxed AHI monster I've ever seen pics of was the UK Dracula (window box...and the graphics are totally different than the standard AHI "Super Monsters" pink card)...

Yeah I honestly think the Dracula box in the UK is all there is.

BTW Anthony, you get around, I see your AHI boxes everywhere.

Oh. I would have thought computer font. It's pretty cool that the maker of the box was right here to answer the question!

Years ago, someone posed the question whether there was ever an AHI boxed Creature. I answered no and was corrected by someone. Lou M perhaps? Either way, I've never seen another beyond the boxed AHI Dracula.

I'm surprised myself when I see my stuff pop up sometimes in places I don't expect it. Usually whenever someone buys the AHI boxes (or even the cards) they buy the whole set. Since you only have 5 figures (6 if you count the female Creech) to complete the entire line it must be a pretty popular series to go after.
