    Fall Preview Shows

Brian's post about Saturday morning cartoons led me to some research on the preview shows the networks used to do to promote the line ups. What I had no memory of, however, was what the Staurday morning preview shows were off-shoots of- The Fall Prime Time Network Special.

WHile I couldn't find any of the Sat morning preview shows, there are a TON of the ABC prime time specials on you tube, covering the entire 1970's (and then some). There a pretty slow, but they really take you back to time when TV was incredibly relevant. I especially enjoyed watching the previews for the network-produced telemovies.

That was pretty cool. I watched the 79 one. Funny seeing the "new" shows that didn't become hits.

When I was a kid, I loved watching those type of shows. Fond memories.

I have one of those Good Times semi-bootleg videos that compiles old Batman material, and Adam West and Burt Ward hosted ABC's preview in 66 or 67 as Batman & Robin.

I seem to remember Henry Winkler as the Fonz hosting several in the 70s/80s.

Funny you guys mentioning this. Kids WB/4-Kids/CW was advertising one this Friday afternoon for their new season.

NBC had one on recently for it's new (prime time) Fall lineup...unfortunately the only one that looked any good was Chuck.
