    Dick Tracy

Now here is a line I would love to see.

DT, Sam, Pruneface, Flat Top, the Brow, Lips and on and on.

I believe that the inspiration for all the cool TV Batman villains came from the panels of Dick Tracy.

    Anybody else?

Yes I totally agree that would be another good line of 8" figs to collect.

With so many colorful villains, this always seemed like an obvious choice for an 8" line.

This would be a great idea, as both a regular Mego-like figure and a Captain Action outfit.

I believe Dick Tracy is much more popular than The Phantom. Particularly his villains.

I just discovered that at one time Brian Bendis was offered the writing gig on the Dick Tracy comic strip!

Man I would love to see these. The rogues gallery, the bright suits (insofar as it references the movie), the way you could use many of the same accessories (pistols, tommyguns), the whole thing seems tailor-made for Mego. I wonder if anyone's inquired about the license? Hint hint, nudge nudge.

I'd even be on board for this line.

And who knows, maybe someone around here could make a cool vinyl Police Station playset, with a laser-cut jail cell. If they haven't "lost" interest in doing projects like that.

God, how cool would that be? The more I think about it, the more excited I get. Seriously, I wonder if anyone's pursued this? I can help. If I spent a real lot of time on it I could maybe sculpt a good Blank likeness.

That would rule the school! Dick Tracy rocks! Even just DT and Flat Top set for Captain Action and Dr Eville would be nice.

We are not opposed to anything at this point. We do think DTwould be a natural fit, with CA and stand alone like the Phantom. We want to make figures that "fit" into the retro MEGO Universe... these fit and would be super fun!

I've always been curious about what percentage of the production budget goes into the clothes. Because everyone in DT land would wear (at least) a suit, shirt, and tie; they would just need to be different colors and patterns. And they'd all come with the same few basic weapons (Kenner Star Wars style). Obviously that would save time and money, but would it be significant? I'm thinking here of Mattel, and how they can release a couple dozen Ghostbusters without significantly re-tooling any clothes or accessories. DT seems like a good deal in that regard.

That's good logic, we use that all the time... it's how we little guys make it. We already have a .45, we'd just need a Tommy Gun with the can (.30 caliber Thompson sub machine gun with cannister magazine). Trench Coats, Suits, hats, and dress shoes.... it could be done pretty handely...

Austin I love that Idea. A Megoesque Dick Tracy line would be awesome.
