    1978 Parker Brothers Electronics Catalog

Parker Brothers was already a household name for board games and in the 1970s, like a lot of other toy manufactureres, they were attempting to the name in the growing electronic game market.
Competition was fierce but Parker in 1979 had some memorable concepts like Merlin and Wild fire Pinball. While ROM: Spaceknight was a cool concept (and an even better comic book) it didn't get the sales it probably deserved. I wanted a Merlin in a bad way, but I had a bunch of games already and the quota with any parent had been filled They had a demo at Sears that I must have played every time I went to shop with my mom. Rom and Stop Thief were high on my list of wants but never got, too.
        It's all good!

Merlin really was an ingenious toy for its time.

Brian, how do you look through all these catalogs and not resist the urge to start collecting every piece you see?

Dude, since I started the site all kinds of weird crap has been creeping in. Last night I got some Josie and the pussycats marchandise, I'm not exactly in a healthy place.
