    Favorite vintage cereal premiums.

Remember when the toy surprise in a box of cereal was actually a toy? Now it's usually just light up spoons and stuff you have to mail in for.

Here's my favorite. Lady and the Tramp from Rice Krispies. I think these are from the mid 50s. My mom has fond memories of collecting these when she was little.

You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

My favorites were those Aurora-esque glow monster busts.

I don't have any now--which characters did they do? I seen to recall Wolfman & Mummy.

They made Wolfman, Mummy, Frank and Phantom. They are favorites of mine too. I have the Wolfman and Phantom with a scan of the original Sugar Crisp box front and back. Very cool.

I remember when I was a real little kid I loved Quisp and had my dad sent the.50 or whatever with the box tops for the head propeller thing he wore. I checked the mail box for months, nothing, never came. My fist mail order ripoff!

Yes, the UM Aurora busts are favorites of mine as well. Though I only have the Mummy in my collection as of now.

                Also love the Creeping Monsters...

                Freakies figurines and cars....

                ANYTHING Monster Cereal

Those monster pens that had glow in the dark tops and wrote in invisible ink. Sadly, I don't have any.

                And the list goes on.

You can see those photos bigger, as well as a bunch of other premiums I have here if you care to take a gander... Cereal Premiums Characters - a set on Flickr

My favourite cereal toys were the plastic pencil holders shaped like the robots from The Black Hole, back in 1979.
I remember there was Maximillian, V.I.N.Cent, Sentry Robot and Old B.O.B.... maybe there were others too.
I can't remember exactly which cereal they came in, though....
