    Thank you Castaway

I ordered 2 of the improved bodies and they were shipped quickly and packaged very well. Thank you for the great communication and fast delivery of the two bodies. I will order more in the future as I am changing the new Mattel bodies to the Castaway ones. Just a quick question what is the best way to remove the heads from the Mattel bodies without any damage? Thank you for a great site and keep up the good work.

Check the "Emce" message board, lots of info there and even a tutorial on how to darker the skin tone by a Castaway personnel.

DC Retro Boil Pop Tragedy - Mego Talk

People seem to have success via the link using a vice grip. Using hot water may or may not work for you.

Hot water WILL work but apparently people with lack of patience meet failure and go for the ripping of the body apart. I had zero problems with the water method, it just took longer and if you don't have the time and patience, then by all means, go destructo on the body. Too bad because they can be reused for other customs.

Seems people need to lay off the sugary pop and sugary energy drinks around here.

Yeah I would like to keep the body in one piece you never know when you may need it again. I had thought of using a rod to push it out and not chancing pulling the head off the neck by pulling on it. Thanks.

Well you will need to pull on the head and when you do you will need to pull hard enough to tear off the safety tab glued inside the plug that keeps the head from coming off. You just need enough heat to soften the plastic and hot water works well. Another drip is using a blow dryer and low setting and either gloves or pliers.
A blow dryer is good for making the plastic malleable but too much can damage or alter the plastic.

I got three bodies to switch biceps with. A memeber here is SO COOL offereing to do the switch for me on my busted EMCE guys. I hope to do all my EMCE TREK and APES men.

If I try Classic TV again I'm just going with the WHOLE body. I think the pirates etc would fit better in the softy hands of Castaway.

I just want to say thanks to castaway!!

The lack of Swivel Arm Battle grip is what kept me away from collecting MEGOS as an Adult. With EMCES reissues and these Castaway parts I"M IN !

This place is like a Richard convention sometimes. It's full of Dicks.

These toys don't come with instruction manuals. The first time I didn't boil the figure long enough, the second time I boiled him too long. I shouldn't even have to be going through all this.

                Hmmm...

The way I remove the heads is; I put the nekid Matell figure in my Dehydrator. I have a big square one with the trays. It gets bodies hot and pliable without water. 10-15 minutes in there on high, and I can pull the heads right out, no damage what-so-ever... so if ya got a dehydrator give it a try... I picked mine up off Craigslist for $20.

                  David,

I've been trying to locate one for 3 years that was dirt cheap.
$20 bucks a HUGE deal for a multiple tray one.
For now the blow dryer has worked for me. It's a mini travel one and has the perfect wattage for heat.
If you see a deal on one let me know since our household still needs one.

Lot of the Richards here like to eat raw foods.

                    I was shocked as well!

I use for all kinds of toy related stuff... it's really good for:

                    Drying heads between paint jobs-
Shrinking heads faster if you are using Hydrospan-
Softening up body parts for removal-

I love it... I don't think I have never put any kind of food item in the thing

Well guys thank you for the suggestions they were very helpful. I have used the boiling method and the head came off without a problem. My Superman now looks like Superman and not a Ken doll. Thanks again.
