Some new additions to the AHI Batman gallery today, above is the Phaser ahem, Batman water pistol. This is a Canadian Card, many AHI items were carried by Grand Toys.




The "L'il Zips" Batmobile looks like crazy fun for under a buck. I don't understand why folks keep things mint in package but decide to cut the packaging like that.

Lastly the L'il Zips Batcycle, which looks a lot like the Mego Batcycle, I guess DC had a role in it's initial design. The card art on this one is fantastic.

Those vehicles look like fun. The only way they could be better was if there was a Penguin, Riddler, Joker or Catwoman car they could chase!

I had that batcycle. After the bike stopped working and fell apart, I make a new cape for the Batman figure and carried him in my pocket for about a year. He went everywhere with me. I loved that silly thing. Alas, it disappeared one day. Probably taken by my cousin. I've been trying to find one since. I don't even care about the bike. I just want the Batman figure.

It's astonishing how many different Bat-items AHI made, I'd love to chase them (and the Spidey ones) but it's just too daunting. Did manage to pick up this one though:

AHI's Batman toys (not to mention all of the other AHI toys) were a featured item in the toy departments when I was a young child.

I had lots of AHI Bat-stuff, including a version of the gun that projected light with little stencils to make the Bat-Signal, etc. The card art is always fun to try and pick and choose where everything comes from. Lots of swipes and redrawings going on there! But an AHI package didn't look like a Mego package. It was all distinctive...and fun!
