AURORA Wonder Woman, Superboy & Confederate Raider redone

These models are being put out next year by Moebius models, along with the Moonbus (2001 movie) and a few other awesome retro and new kits. Also the Aurora Red and Blue knights are being put out next year too (by AMT I think), and Polar Lights is putting out the '66 Batmobile and a bunch of repops from 10 years or so (3 Stooges, Robby Robot, Munsters, Trek stuff, etc.). Great time to love models.

Wonder Woman though.. too awesome (1st re-release of her ever).

REALLY?!?!? The Knights were awesome kits! I had the Gold Knight of Nice way back when (got it at one of them mom & pop variety stores) and would LOVE another crack at him! (Mine got dismantled to make an old Mego Kirk into an AD&D character.)

....and I'm hoping Moebius releases the rest of the Monster Scenes. I NEEDS me some Gruesome Goodies!

Now they just need to redo the Clipper ship from 2001.

I hope they all come in reproduction boxes. I know the Knights box art is probably outdated looking by now (I've only seen small photos of the vintage boxes) but collectors will be the main people buying these kits- so I hope they gear the releases towards the collector.

The knights are coming from Revell (who owns the Aurora tooling)
If they sell well, there is a good chance they might consider making the others.

Moebius is releasing the other 2 Monster Scenes kits. Pain Parlor and Gruesome Goodies. (though I think Dave said they wion't be out until October 2010)

Round2 is releasing the old Fundimensions Haunted Glow Heads.

The Wonder Woman is cool, I just wish they'd enlarged it to 1/9 scale, to fit with the Aurora Monsters. (Same for the witch.) Yeah, I'm a philistine, I know.

I wish they'd re-release all those Zap-Action kits from the early 70's. Those Pirates of the Caribbean & haunted Mansion, etc ones. I loved those.

That wish has been echoed by many a kit builder.
The general thinking is that the hold-up is that no one wants to try and deal with Disney. That is, if they would even be willing to liscense those kits again.

^^^^Yeah, the originals are too darn pricey and those are some kits I'd actually want to take a stab at building again as an adult but I don't want to spend $$$$$$$ for an unbuilt kit and then destroy the value by building it. Hopefully someone will go for it one of these days and they end up affordable and not some limited production or resin kit. I would think that a tie-in with the current Disney Pirates movie would help sell them even though they aren't the exact characters from the movie. Heck, they could even make a few new ones with the current actors. Or...an even better idea would be to incorporate the model scenes into the movie! That way they would really be tied in. They're just skeletons so they could technically be almost ANY pirate really. The only one that might not fit would be the Long John Silver ones but who cares. I want the kits back!
