1960's-70's red flashing eyes skull model

I have been trying to find another one of these are at least a picture of it for years.

I used to have a life size skull model you had to build. This model had red lcd type of lights for the eyes. The eye sockets themselves were silver (like a flashlight). The model also had a slim gear that you moved on the back on the head. This would turn the eyes around in the skull and if you turned it enough the eyes would "reverse and instead of silver sockets you had black sockets with tiny red dot eyes.

I also think you could make it so that the eyes could either flash or just stay on.

I am pretty sure most of those old comic ads with the "flashing skull" toy might have been this. I am also pretty sure this was a popular item at the time. Does anyone remember this or have pics of it?

Depends what decade you're talking I guess. I think that Monogram or Revell (whoever made the Red Baron car kit) had a life sized skull model with red light up eyes, but I think it also came with a German helmet (like the Red Baron car).

A skull with flashing red eyes... hmmm, sounds familiar

the one I had did not come with any type of helmet, just a generic skull with the silver eye sockets. I would love to see this again

hmm for the decade I am sure I had this is the early to mid 80's but I have seen others with it in the 70's as well

I believe that was called either the "Head Light" or "Head Lamp" kit and it was featured in either the Sears or JC Penney Christmas catalog that year on the models page. I had one as a kid and the gear mechanism was infuriating. After turning it about three times one of the gears would always pop loose and you would have to take the whole thing apart to fix it!

I think my cousins had one of those. We use to use it when we played spook house.

I remember some kids had something like that. They tried to scare their maid, Alice with it.

I am almost positive that I purchased mine at a kaybee toy store. Back then they used to carry a large model section and this is where I found it

Finally found a picture of this model kit in the 1982 Famous Monsters yearbook:

it was the posting I made a day ago about trying to find a certain space ship model that led me to look for "skull" under the toy and model section of Ebay. At long last I have found it!!! Bought the auction Below. Their was a lever in the back that would rotate the eyes. In the pic below is the flashlight mode, switching the eyes (rotating them) you get the "red eye" mode)
