Who listens to to hard core metal?

Who in here listens to hard core metal in here?

Meaning stuff along the lines of Metallica, Slayer, King Diamond, Anthrax, Overkill, Testament, WASP, Megadeth, Danzig, Kreator....stuff along that lines.

I was talking to Huedell earlier about critiquing an idea of mine and I need more opinions. Just PM me and I will explain it better. I don't want to waste anyone's time by posting anything in here that would offend them.

    Thank you.

Don't listen to any of those.

I like like Dio, Lita Ford and Alice Cooper.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Oh I thought you meant death metal and stuff, which I don't listen to. But yeah, thrash like those bands I love. Overkill is one of my favorite thrash bands. But my favorite genre of metal is power metal.

Incidentally Wrath---I'm a big fan of the first three WASP albums.

Overkill! Awesome! One of my favorite bands! I played with them on the same stage at the Mirmar Theatre in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I own everything they have ever released! One of my favorite bands!!

Love WASP. They sorta went from hard rock to what they are today...insane shock hard core metal. You should listen to the new stuff Huedell. Blackie has really kicked that band's image in the butt.

I remember King Diamond from about 20 years ago. Is that weirdo still around?

Weirdo? I love that guy! He is the master of horror! I have seen him live dozens of times! Each album he releases is a story book. All the songs continue into each other on each album to make a little story. It is brilliant!!

His latest, "Give Me Your Soul Please" came out last year! He'll never stop putting out these masters of horror releases. I guess you really have to be into the whole shock rock/horror thing to appreciate his music. Some people don't like him because of his high speech screams and his connection to the Satanic Church. In all honestly, I think it is just a ploy to sell records...etc.

Here you go. Here is his latest video...

Well, I'm more inclined to their earlier style---so you know--it is what it is---
but I'll be checking out their newer stuff here and there that's for sure.
If I didn't--that'd be crazy because I really do love those first three albums
---although I'm actually not AS into ELECTRIC CIRCUS as I am the first two.

Well, I would HOPE the reason KD puts out that material is because he ENJOYS IT
---enjoys playing that character whether he actually practices the stuff or not.
Not sure why you'd overlook that possibility.

                          Oh man! You stopped there?

You are missing some good tunes afterwards. Especially this classic!

I have albums from all of those bands in my collection (except Overkill). Big fan of King since his Mercyful Fate days, and Danzig since his Misfits days. I kind of lost track of Blackie/WASP, the last album of theirs I bought was The Headless Children, which I like a lot.

These days, the metal I listen to is either black metal: Cradle of Filth (one of my favourite bands period) Emperor, Dimmu Borgir, Bathory (RIP Quarthon), etc. or bands that combine metal and classical, especially those with female singers (Tristania, Nightwish, Therion, Leave's Eyes, Peccatum, etc).

Nice list with the metal bands with female singers! I listen to those too except for Therion and Peccatum. If you'd like some reccomendations based on those, I say give these a try: Epica,Battlelore,Penumbra,Macbeth, Elis, Sirenia,Visions of Atlantis,After Forever,Krypteria,HolyHell. All excellent female/male bands in my opinion!
