Listening to Pod Stallions costs me money...

because they talk about cool things I want to own. Jason mentioned getting this book in one of the podcasts, so I had to track it down and get it for myself...

the hardcover collection of early Buck Rogers strips.

But I couldn't stop there could I? No, I also ordered more stuff...

the one shot sci-fi magazine called Adventure Illustrated featuring a Jim Starlin cover and lots of snazzy contributors...

I'd been looking for this since I found it's sister publication Fantasy Illustrated a couple of years back.

    Some Conan books...

a Sam Glanzman graphic novel featuring Attu his prehistoric/sci-fi/fantasy hero...

Some Tarzan stuff and another Conan...

some Flash Gordon issues, Anything Goes #5 with a Turtles cover to complete that series and the last of the Alex Ross Battle of the Planets issues form Image I needed (again thanks Jason)

and finally some Jonny Quest issues...

Every time I listen to an episode of Pod Stallions I find something to add to my hunting list-comics, movies, toys, what have you. And every time I go looking for that stuff, I find other cool stuff too. My wallet hates you, but I love it. Don't ever stop guys!

It costs me money too. I blame Lenzi.

I've been on a "British Annuals" jag thanks to him.

Sometimes I don't need Pod Stallions to spend money-well in this case store credit, I traded in a small pile of Silver Age stuff I had replaced in trade over the years at a shop I had never been to but knew the dealer form cons before (I had picked up the FTC Robert E. Howard heroes figures from him at the last show I went to), and then went to town on his cheap back issue bins while my wife sorted through a bunch of the pre-painted plastic rpg figures (for D&D minis and PAthfinder) and we came home with a huge haul of stuff...

everything from Kubert Tarzan's to Kirby Kamandi's to a Hulk Power Record set, some more Jonny Quest issues and a big ole pile of Savage Sword of Conans (nearly finishing the run) and Deadly Hands of Kung Fu-also a nice Burne Hogarth portfolio of Tarzan in Pellucidar...all this and more...

my wife's staycation would be costing us a lot if I weren't trading in a lot of unwanted/expendable books for store credit to fuel our geek shopping. Didn't help at the excellent Mediterranean restaurant we stopped at for dinner (mmmm hummus and schewarma) but I am not complaining. Now to chekc off my want lists and get to sorting and reading...
