12" Gilligan's Island and Dukes On Sale at FTC

FTC is clearing out Gilligan's Island 12" figures, and the 12"+8" set, along with some of the Dukes of Hazzards 12" figures. 40% off the 12" figures, 26% off the Gilligan's 12" & 8" Set.

I want to buy the 1:9 scale ones. Maybe they'll go cheaper like the 12" ones and I can buy then.

Are they doing this with J.R. (Dallas)? if not, they should, I don't think they could give those ones away.

You know it just dawned on me that the series one 12 inch Dukes have been discounted for a very long time (because that's how I originally bought them marked down). It's the series two 12-inchers that have now joined that discount. Never seen series one or two of the 8 inch variety marked down. Those remaining inventory volumes might be considerably lower, so FTC probably doesn't feel there's an audience to snag the bigger scale in stock. I'm just glad I was FINALLY able to get the EE exclusive edition for a great price.

I give FTC loads of props for dipping their toes into the Gilligan's Island license. Perhaps the fate of the 12 inch format are similar to that of the Dukes and the 8 inch are selling modest enough to keep them at suggested retail. But the big difference here is that FTC was able to go significantly deeper into the Duke's characters than Gilligan. I'm starting to believe the Gilligan's Island show is something mostly watched by new generations and not so much collected in terms of merchandising. Dukes will always have an extensive arm in merchandising. The 12 inch format might have gone just outside that curve.
