Yet Another Look at the Collection of Mel Birnkrant

There have been many articles at this point, but it never gets tired given how much stuff there is in every photo to search through. I recall a few years ago when we did this, we "discovered" the Maxx FX Creech in a photo amidst a crowd of toys.

Incredible--it's like a museum. I love the Capt. Marvel items and that neat little Phantom figure.

The Disneyana must be worth a fortune.

I've never seen the Captain Marvel piece. Is that real? Or is it a new piece made to look old? Also, is he repairing the doll in the pic or is he making a doll?

              Interesting stuff.

It was produced circa 1946 and is exceedingly rare. My father frequently and fondly spoke of the one he bought when it was new, that the examples available to him all had some damage to their composite heads from shipping (and several to the hands and feet, made from the same materials), and how it disintegrated over time, and how much he truly enjoyed having it. He was astounded to know of it's near mythical status in Capt. Marvel memorabilia and the prices the few that have surfaced have achieved.

Making. He's sculpting the wax face.
