My Green Lantern figure has something rattling inside of him.

I guess it's not BIG deal as he's going to sit in a Rubbermaid box with the rest of the MEGO reissues/additions in my closet until my lease runs out this Summer but eventually I'd like to display him as well as the other figures without the fear he's going to fall apart.

    Any ideas?

While I'm on about it, has anyone transferred the head/clothes/boots to a regular body? Not loving the Batman '66 hands either. Really feeling like he should have oven mitts like the other members of the JLA.

Mark, it's probably a plastic wink, lots of vintage toys have them too.

You type faster than I. I was going to add that I see the issue with the '66 gloves. I am waiting until the line goes deeper before I make any tweaks, but I intend to try for a consistent design theme for boots and gloves. I'm personally not a mitt fan; I lean more toward the treatment Mego gave GA or Shazam on the clothing with color-coordinated hands.

You're confusing me with someone else again like when I first signed up for this forum.

          like Mattel already did.

Nope - Mattel used bulky pleather. Also not always a fan of their rubber boots. I do love their GL outfit with some mods though- just need to be careful not to snag the fabric.

Tell us who you are and then we'll know. Or do you have a secret identity?

                I really don't think that's necessary.

The name's not Mark. That's all. No sense in going with names when I am, as the handle describes, not long for the forum.

really disliked the boots they used for GL, Lex and whoever else. The Flash and Batman style ones are better. Matty's costuming was way better than some of the stuff FTC has done so far on the superheroes. Baggy, mis-hemmed, etc.

As far as gloves go, I thought about the way they did Green Arrow, but that was probably a unique case; he had to have regular hands available to hold the bow. All the later figures with gloves, like Mr. Fantastic and the Titans, had the molded gloves with the fingers sculpted on, so I figure that would have been a likely choice for GL. THe new style gloves definitely look out of place with the old Megos, but a pair of white Mr. F gloves from Doc Mego with a sticker for the ring (although Mego might have gone with a simple green splotch painted on the finger, if anything) and Hal fits in nicely with the old timers. I did transfer the costume on two of the GL's I got to a regular FTC body, and there was no problem (the second to do John Stewart using the Mattel head). Same with transferring Flash to a red body so he would have just the sleeves and the red hands (again, figuring that would be the simplest way for Mego to have done it).

***Unless a plastic wink is how Gerry Anderson's puppets used to break the fourth wall.

Honestly, I don't think this amount of stick is necessary. I just posted here to ask a few questions. That's it. "My name it is nothing. My age it means less." Right, Mr. Dylan? I have no interest in socializing.

As far as becoming some massive collector, I've neither the time, the money, nor the space. And now that the original run of DC figures is over with (and the new ones really aren't that spectacular), the Marvel reissues have way too much extra and are way overpriced, I missed the Planet of the Apes reissues (which are now as or more overpriced), and only half-heartedly pursued the Star Trek reissues, I'm sealing the vault.

To borrow Kenneth Williams' last words, "[W]hat's the bloody point?"

A wink in a piece of excess plastic that occasionally ends up in figures from all mego eras (just a result of the manufacturing process). They rattle around when you move the figure.
