    Batman v Superman: Confession Time...

This deserved its own separate thread...cuz I'm gonna come clean here.

Saw Batman v Superman once...the first opening night, Thursday.

    After watching it...I liked it...gave it a 8.5/10.

BUT...have NOT had the inclination to see it again at the theaters, not until until Blu-ray.

I'm one of those who have directly contributed to the drastic box office fall of Batman v Superman...no repeat viewing.

As time passes ( same thing happened with Man of Steel)...I really want to visit Zack Snyder's Mansion, and at least throw a rock through one of his windows, hopefully hit the bathroom one while he's taking a crap...

    Seriously, I hate his guts.

    He SUCKS as a director.

The only part of the movie I'll gladly see over and over again...are the actual Batman/Superman fight (although the entire fight could've been avoided had Superman simply told Batman what was going on in the first place, lol)...the Batman vs thugs fight...and of course...the BEST thing in the entire movie, the awesome and beautiful Wonder Woman...she stole the show, the ONLY part where I got goosebumps, the ONLY part were I personally jumped off my seat and cheered...thank you, Gal Gadot...you are truly an Amazonian goddess. I also do LOVE the soundtrack, all superheroes get a cool theme tune, especially Wonder Woman's. I did buy the CD, and play it through my iPod/headphones while I trail walk, great stuff...makes me walk even faster, lol.

    But the rest?

Doomsday was the worst piece of CGI crap I've EVER seen in such a big budget movie. It was a monumental WHAT DA FUDGE moment. HORRID, HORRIBLE, HORRIFIC...

Amy Adams as Lois Lane. I'm sorry, she SUCKS! I can't stand her. She's ALL wrong for the role. Why the heck was not someone like the lovely Emily Blunt was not cast as Lois Lane? It boggles my mind. And Lois Lane HAPPENS TO BE AT EVERY SINGLE IMPORTANT LOCATION. It's like she has this superpower of her own, to be there at all times at the right time, just like in Man of Steel, argh...and she's in FRIGGIN half the DAMN BLOODY movie...it almost felt like a stand alone Lois Lane movie, double argh...

More Jeremy Irons as Alfred...less Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor.

Yes, the movie was too dark, too grim, too dreary...no light at the end of the tunnel...I felt suffocated, claustrophobic, like I couldn't breathe. I guess my love for DC, especially for Superman...BLINDED me into liking it at first...rating it so highly...I WANTED TO LOVE IT SOOOOOOOOOO BAD...

Don't get me wrong, I still don't think it's necessarily a terrible movie, for it has some good elements to it...and heck, I'd take ANYTHING that features Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman...and the rest of the Justice League members...I'll take it...

But for the love that's all holy...Warner Brothers...

...PLEASE GET RID OF ZACK SNYDER!!!

I want an actual director with TALENT to direct the Justice League movie.

I CANNOT wait for the stand alone Wonder Woman movie...thank GOD Snyder is NOT directing it. I have faith in director Patty Jenkins...she cannot possibly be as bad as Snyder...IMPOSSIBLE.

OK, I came out of the closet here...I feel my much better now...

P.S. I still wanna collect all the Batman v Superman Hot Toys figures, as the superheroes themselves rule...not fault of theirs...just that arze wipe called Zack Snyder.

P.S.S. Can't wait for Civil War, more so because of Spidey, my favorite Marvel superhero...looking forward to Black Panther as well....

Just out of curiosity: is it still an 8.5 out of 10?
Expectation is the death of discovery.

hey, maybe Lois is just a good reporter and knows where to be for a story?? I'm more excited about a Batman movie with Affleck and Irons and JK SIMMONS as Gordon and the WW movie than the JLA movie. They really should do some universe building before going for the big one.

Haven't seen the movie as of yet, Hec, but trust me, brother, I feel your pain! I'm a huge Green Lantern head and I really, really, really, really wanted a GREAT Green Lantern movie. Some of it was passable (mostly visual stuff), but, by and large, the writers and director took a very promising character/story and shat all over it. I would love to see the suits at WB loosen up whatever kind of grip they have on the creative minds behind these franchises and put them into the hands of people who know, love and appreciate the characters, people who aren't afraid to let the "comic book" part of "comic book movie" show. MARVEL's done it (repeatedly, with great success), so you'd think that WB would try using their approach at least as some sort of a template instead of going off in a completely different direction and making their universe one big, dark, murky, ultra-grounded, very Nolanesque place. There's a time and a place and characters for those types of films. Superman, Batman and WW ain't them, though...
sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon.

Hector you and me need to pour a couple of glasses of Tequila with some Chimichangas and have some good laughs with Deadpool. I think it would be a memorable.

I'm going to have to agree with you on this one as well...we have to get to know these characters...before hastily assembling them together just for the sake of competing against the Avengers...bad strategy.

Some hate the look of Aquaman, I actually liked it...but I understand comic book purists hating it...I understand. But I'm a Jason Momoa fan...and I like his Aquaman look, but yeah...it's very different.

I'm not really that connected with Cyborg..I'd rather have Martian Manhunter...the actor in the Supergirl shows would've been perfect...especially in costume.

Ezra Miller's Flash SUCKED DONKEY PRIVATE PARTS!!! Pony-tailed pretentious hipster Flash, good grief...HORRIBLE...argh. Grant Gustin runs circles (no pun intended) over him...CIRCLES.

The good parts, Ben Affleck made a GREAT Batman, his Bruce Wayne still needs a bit more refinement...I still like Christian Bale more as Wayne...but Affleck to me is already the best on screen Batman.

Henry Cavill...great looking Superman...dude is a walking Greek statue, dude is chiseled and ripped for real, no muscle suits needed, has the chiseled required Superman features as well. But he needs to break free of that somber persona...if he ever lightened up...he'd be a GREAT Superman.

Gal Gadot...PERFECT, PERFECT, PERFECT. I didn't get a true feel for her Diana Prince persona too much, hopefully in her stand alone movie...but as Wonder Woman, oh my goodness, she was damn PERFECT.

Hopefully Darkseid kills Zack Snyder...and all the planets will align once again...

I avoided posting in the other thread cuz I didn't want to rain on your parade, I appreciate your deep seated love for these characters and just didn't have the heart to rip this installment apart in your own thread. But now that you've expressed your honest experience, all I can say is, "Yeah, what you said....times 10!"

Sorry Hec, hopefully they'll learn this time and turn it all around...until then there's plenty of awesome Queen tunes to help block out all the bad things.

I admire you're near unwavering enthusiasm Hector. I also admire the fact that you are willing to concede it got the better of you.

I wish BvS had been everything you hoped it would be. I had no problems with Adams as Lois, and loved what we saw of Wonder Woman. I liked that Bruce/Batman acted as more of a detective, and I loved Irons as Alfred.

But that's about it. As time passes, the more this movie makes me....not angry, but sad. Sad that the characters have been dragged through this mud. I just wish someone would push Snyder away and hose them off.
