You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Another from my Christmas wish list from 82. Mattel Dazzle dolls. They were Mattel's answer to Kenner's Glamour Gals.

I have to admit, I do love scented toys. It's right up there with glow in the dark and translucent plastic as my all time favorite toy gimmicks.

Thanks. I was pretty excited to find out I still had this.

That's pretty awesome! 1982 was a good year for toys, and was really the last year of my youth where I was still pretty heavily invested in playing with toys before music and other interests took over.

Wow, how cool that you kept those? MOTU quickly took over all my thoughts and my parent's money that year.

Always fun to see vintage toy articles and ads. Alas this was my senior year in high school so I really saw the formation of MOTU, Smurfs, and those cat people from afar. I can clearly remember attending a birthday party for my brother's very young son at that time. There was a local toy store called Children's Palace that was still selling Megos. I got him a carded Batman for his birthday that year. I tried to keep the spirit alive even then.

^Ah, Children's Palace! The one in Lexington had Megos as late as 1986, I know. I can still recall the endcap of Mego Spideys I passed up. I already had a decent Spidey at home. D'OH!!!

1982 was truly are great year for toys. Besides MOTU, it was also the first year for Real American Hero GI JOE and My Little Pony.

I also remember Children's Palace. The one I went to as a child still had a few WGSH Megos up to the 1989 Batman movie.
