Meh. I never got into the whole Apocalypse storyline/character, but the few issues I've read featuring him, it seems like he should me much bigger in stature (almost Hulk-like) and I always imagined his voice much deeper and more---threatening. And why is it that bridges always seem to suffer in X-Men movies...?sigpic Oh then, what's this? Big flashy lighty thing, that's what brought me here! Big flashy lighty things have got me written all over them. Not actually. But give me time. And a crayon. -

There have been 4 good X-Men movies out of 5 so far. What other franchise can boast that? I'll check this one out. Maybe they will be 5 for 6.Comment

Now if only we could get Singer to finally do justice to The Phoenix Saga. Would need to be three movies though, I think...sigpic Oh then, what's this? Singer's strength great at character pacing, which is why he can make such large casts feel balanced. But he hasn't yet been able to "go big", as in scope and scale. He's thought numerous times that issue was up to the VFX producers to make work, but it's actually on him.
In interviews for X-Men: Apoc development, Singer and the producers talked about scaling down because Apocalypse needed be more realistic. But the whole story around the character is on the Thanos/Darkseid scale of huge. They incorporating that, but then like Days of Future, they're going to contain it. I mean, Days showed why Singer is a great director; he made it feel epic through pacing, but when broken down, it's actually a very small cast with minimal locations. That's not really possible with Apocalypse, but the more I see and read, it's seems like they went that route.
He probably could have done Phoenix Saga as it's team-centric. My vote was for Mutant Massacre. The locations and story really fit the themes he's been playing with. I certainly don't like how he changed Apocalypse into a generic god figure. He was a war/"death cult" god. That, to me, is more threatening than another Khan-esque messiah complex.Comment

smart move on their part to keep Jennifer Lawrence out of the blue make-up, given that you want to attract some of her Hunger Games fans and I'm sure for the comfort of the actress. Not really in keeping with the character's mutant pride around not hiding who she is anymore though.
Hoping they delve into the Quicksilver/Magneto relationship, which is fertile ground for conflict and mixed allegiances.
I suspect there are very good reasons why we do not see Wolverine in the Trailer.
I personally am looking forward to seeing Archangel the most.
