    Sharpie Marker--why, oh, why!?

*sigh* Two ebay purchases recently (GI Joe 40th and vintage Mego) with "retouching" using a Sharpie marker.

They are loose figures. I'm not upset by the retouching--I've done it myself with paint mask defects or hair rubs. But--if I may say--I know what I'm doing and always disclose it.

No, it's the marker use that irks me--it bleeds right into the vinyl and spreads, ugh.

Does anyone else need to vent thereof?

Wait. The seller retouched them as a sales tactic?

Not "some kid 45 years took a sharpie to these figures" kind of sharpie?

Well, retouched, but I don't know of course if the seller did it or was aware of it.

I did it with some of my older Megos back in the '80s, so I know where it leads.

why would you bother touching up a loose 40th Joe?

^It was an Air Cadet cap (the bill). Timeless actually, not 40th. Again, I don't mind the retouching as much as the technique. The white vinyl cap had common yellow oxidation and when I cleaned it, the marker came off, too.
