Santa Claus is the FTC figure announced today! Nice version for a Mego St Nick! And there will be 2-packs w/ DC heroes. but who wants more than 1 Santa?

The Santa Claus art looks from Nick Cardy cover to 1974 DC Christmas With the Super Heroes Treasury Edition my Mom's best friend gave me for Christmas when I was 4! Read it every Christmas and still have it!

My late uncle collected Santa Claus figures and had over 500 different ones! I wish I could give this FTC version to him, he would have liked it!

I can finally retire that old blow-molded, 8" Santa I've been using with my Megos in Christmas displays for years. Or maybe the Exclusive Premiere 9" Miracle On 34th Street one. It's not really in scale.

What would be really cool would be if the 2 packs came with a relevant "present" for the super hero. Santa and Batman could come with a batarang. Santa and Superman could come with a clear crystal. Santa and Wonder Woman could come with a cape!

The limited edition nature of the Santa 2 packs with a present only available with them would make them cool!

Have to admit, didn't see this one coming. A really nice addition, methinks. As for a sleigh, there are numerous and cheap versions you can usually get around the holidays; I picked up a hollow paper mache version years ago to use with my Mego Christmas displays. A quick red paint job and a piece of green material with some stuffing tied into a big sack and it looked great.

The face sculpt looks really good, and will definitely go nicely with the existing super-figures. THe proportions seem good, too; would have been easy to fudge a big head here with the big red suit, but it looks just right. Would have preferred the classic black fur topped boots look, but that likely would have meant a new boot mold (though I'm thinking the old Rookies/SWAT boots from LJN with some fur topping might work like they did on my custom Santa).

Santa from FTC is pretty cool but, also a bummer as I have started the preliminary work on a Santa custom. I will continue to build the custom but I will also get one of the two-packs.
