    Mego Batgirl

With the passing of Yvonne Craig, I thought I'd pay tribute with Mego. As a kid I truly wanted a Batgirl figure, my crush on Craig was the motivating factor but i had no idea of this at my young age. In the end, my fear of what my friends would think won out and I've always regretted that weakness. When I first began collecting, she was my #1 target and i don't care what my friends think about that. For more Fashion Mockery and 70's toy love visit us at Plaid Stallions.com

I never saw a Batgirl figure. I'd say she was out of production not long after I got into Megos. Had I seen her, I doubt my Bat-mania would have allowed me to pass her up. Her presence on the package backs haunted me.

Love the mego Batgirl. With her hands on her hips she's ready to kick Joker into next week.

My sister got the Batgirl Mego, but I eventually assimilated it. It is probably in my top 2 favorites.

Batgirl has always been my favorite female Mego figure....played with her and Shazam more than any others.

Batgirl was my only SuperGal--at least until I tried to remake Dorothy as Isis using a white plastic trash bag. I thought, and still do, that she was wonderful, certainly with those accessories. I had the blue Batcycle, and she always commandeered it, B & R got the Batmobile.

I wouldn't be surprised if she was purchased from a catalogue just like the ad above, I had many mail-order Megos.
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

That how it is here, too. I have a blue Batcycle for my purple suit ala Yvonne Craig Batgirl (RIP), and Batman and Robin have the Batmobile.

I never saw this in the stores but as an adult (and thanks to this site) I had to track it down to complete my collection. Now I have all the Silkscreen Super-Heroes in my collection along with they later versions.

Is her chest sticker missing or just covered by her cape in the ad?

This was how things "worked" when I was little. In the early 1980s, my sister got Teela, but I immediately brought her in with my MOTU (we would play with those together, but there was never any doubt they were "mine"). The same pattern happened with Evil-Lyn, but with my parents a little annoyed at the gender-based game to get the toy. The only other "girl" figure I remember in this regard was Annie Oakley from Legends of the West, a late find for that collection, and I know that I had learned my lesson then and bought her myself, so she was always "my" toy.

Wanted: Legends of the West (Empire & Excel) and other western historically-based figures. Send me an offer.
Also interested in figures based on literary characters.
