I'd rather see Peck as Batman, not sure who I'd cast as Supes. Seems like Esther Williams would fit better as Mera.

Those are great! Mickey Rooney would have made for a perfect Jimmy Olsen at some point. Buster Crabbe as Aquaman is perfection.

I really love these, but while some of the casting choices are spot on, I think others are way off.

Vincent Price would be my only choice for Dr. Strange...imagine that voice reciting all those incantations.
And James Cagney as the Hulk? NO WAY.
Just as Lou Ferrigno played Hercules, Steve Reeves should have been the Hulk.
Finally, I would have cast Kirk Douglas as Daredevil, with Edward G. Robinson as the Kingpin.

It's scary how much Judy Garland actually looks like that era of Wonder Woman. Neat idea.

              What a great idea.
              I love these!
This artist sure knows how to use color and light to bring them to life.

I'm OK with Peck as Superman, I've always wanted to see Cary Grant as Bruce Wayne/Batman.

Vincent Price would have made an amazing Doctor Strange. When I first started reading the original Ditko version I thought of Price.

I'm a fan of old moves and these are fun and well done but some of the choices are questionable but that's just my opinion. Errol Flynn or Tyrone Power would have made a good Batman. I think Gary Cooper could have been an interesting choice for Doc Savage.

^After seeing The Raven a few months back, I'm wondering if Ditko was slightly influenced by Price for Strange. Not just the face and pencil thin mustache, but the hand gesturing as well.

Yul Brynner as Luthor is spot on, Garland as Wonder Woman is fantastic, Crabb as Aquaman is pretty good too
he did play Flash Gordon and Tarzan once so why not? how about Errol Flynn as Green Arrow? since he did
                      play Robin Hood.

Buster Crabbe was known as a famous swimmer before getting into acting, so he is pitch-perfect for Aquaman!

I agree! These are fun and well-designed, although I think some of the casting is straining to accommodate classic Hollywood.

I think so, too--though Rita is a very famous red-head.
