Ive always liked this movie alot. It of course wasn't a slasher flick but I love the errieness and atmosphere of the movie. The scene with the marineers at the end creeped me out as a kid. Of course the remake was not as a good and I didn't like it. What's everyone's take on it? (The original of course)

How much did I dread clicking into this thread! Here we go, a remake of a remake this time. Thankfully not!
I love The Fog. Very creepy and very original. Might have to give this a watch again now. -
Oh I adore the Fog. It's a perfect Carpenter film and quite literally oozes atmosphere. Great old fashioned ghost yarn with a modern Carpenter twist. The score is great, and the cast is phenomenal. Of course I appreciate that bot Adrienne Barbeau and Hal Holbrook would later unite in the indelible Crate sequence of Creepshow.
The Fog is top shelf for me.Comment

Love Old Fog.
Hate New Fog.
I remember seeing the original movie, and getting out my GI Joes and dressing them up as pirates, painting their skin a sickly green. I still have one of those. I now call him Seasick Steve...
I recently bought the soundtrack CD (expanded version) which has dialogue. It's like listening to a radio play..

The Fog has always been a favorite of mine. I introduced my 16 year old daughter to it a few months ago and he had the same appreciation for it, so it can't be nostalgia talking when I think fondly of it. Funny as she just mentioned this weekend that she wants to see it again.
It just shows that what you don't see is creepier than what you see sometimes.Comment

I may need to dust this one off, it's been ages. And the contest to give me the new EMCE Hammer museum ID was only supposed to be binding for a year, which has long passed. I really like "Seasick Steve."Comment
