    Sears Cantina Adventure Playset

The Sears Cantina playset with it's well known snaggle tooth variant was something I was blissfully unaware of as a child

As an adult, I work hard to fight the "Star Wars Urge" stuff like this makes it difficult.

I have the enormous Gentle Giant one scaled for the 12 inch figures, and have no room to set it up. :(

I got it for Christmas that year, only sold it just maybe a year or two ago.
My posts were needlessly deleted ...

I remember seeing that ad back in the day. Funny thing is they have both versions of Snaggletooth pictured. Back then,I thought they were brothers.

I remember that ad. I really wanted it but already had all the aliens other than Snaggletooth. Later I did get the regular Creature Cantina playset.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

I had this and traded it in the late 80s for my circle suit Spidey and removable cowl Batman. I also had the remote control Jawa sand crawler thing and traded that for a boxed set of Mego knights.

Somehow my parents ordered me just the cantina figures, not the playset. I remember opening the catalog mailer box and pulling out the blue Snaggletooth. I still have all 4 of those, but never did get the playset.

My 'can you spot the flaw in ad' entry: image #7: Power Droid pictured, not Death Star Droid. still, xmas '78 was probably the most magical for me with the best toy bounty ever!!!..

Got this at the flea market in Canton Tx. about 20 odd years ago. Paid $75. Box is crap but the contents were completely intact. Not a big SW fan but still not planning to let go of this any time soon.

I had that back in the day but sold/traded it off 15+ years ago. Brings back memories of a simpler time in toys when they were made to be played with.

That page is burned into my memory (2-3 months of staring at it in '78). I got it for Christmas; still have my origina backdrop/playset and all 4 figures (including ol' Blue). Its in played with condition and I wouldn't give it up for the world. Also picked up a pretty pristine backdrop sometime in the 90s before prices went way up; got that one in a frame.

I can still clearly remember opening this gift on Christmas Eve at my grandparent's house, I was so thrilled and I was really smitten with the cantina aliens. I don't have this in my collection anymore but I still have a strong affinity for it because of those vivid memories

The funny thing about this though.....some time later, one of my good buddies got the red Snaggletooth figure, and I was SO jealous because I had the blue Snaggletooth, which we were convinced was lame since it was incorrect. For some reason I couldn't find a red Snaggletooth for a long time, finally got him for Christmas in 1981. My blue one promptly got tossed to the side and forgotten about. *sigh* Oh how I wish I still had that blue figure, argh!
