I thought the neck thing was for droppin' beats with dolphins. Love his new pink skin tone, it's gonna kill with the Pony Bronies. And I love the trident/arrow/javelin thingie. Is it a trivelin? A Javarrow? A travildent? Let's just call it awesome.
Keep 'em coming DC!Comment

Kinda surprised we aren't getting AquaRobZombie in the comics to match the upcoming movie version. I guess they need to see how that movie shakes out first before committing. This might be the transition point before they head to this...

Actually, I don't hate this a lot, it harkens to the Arthur Joseph Curry look and the video game. It could be worse--and I'll bet it will be when Momoa debuts.
That said, it's ridiculous and unnecessary--modern swim technology is suspiciously like Aquaman's classic look, but DC is working awfully hard to make him look "cool" like a Mad Max refugee. And of course the torso's darker, they can never think outside that box. What else should I expect from a company who settles for armored Batman and Superman in navy-blue rubber?Last edited by PNGwynne; Jul 1, '15, 4:44 PM.WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.Comment

I read the preview and the art style was muddy and it's basically Aquaman vs. Mera and Atlantis because of some as yet untold reason. Aquaman was one of the New52 titles I actually liked. This not so much.
I've liked the de-powered Superman storyline. And I enjoyed the Jim Gordon as Robo-Bat-Cop, particularly Detective Comics, which features a team with Harvey Bullock and Rene Montoya who lend support to the Robo-Bat. It has a Gotham Central feel to it. Doomed was fun. It's kind of a what if a Peter Parker-type was infected by an alien virus and became a Hulk-type. The cover is a homage/rip-off of Incredible Hulk No. 1. The new Martian Manhunter book has promise. Evidently MM is part of an early wave of a Mars invasion. He and some other Martians work independently and undercover to soften the Earth up for takeover, but he's having second thoughts about his mission. I also liked the three remaining Green Lantern books. Hal is on the run and he's kind of playing a mashup of Han Solo and Captain Kirk. The book has also taken a few trappings from the recent GL CGI cartoon with a spaceship with an AI robot. GL Lost Army is John, Arisia, Krona, Kilowog and later Guy lost somewhere in space. Sinestro featured a battle between him and his daughter Sornick Natu over the remnant of the Kourgarian race. Dr. Fate was OK, but nothing special. The more offbeat stuff like Prez, Omega MeN, Section 8, Batmite and Bizzaro really aren't for me. Wonder Woman (she is wearing a costume similar to the one in the most recent JLA direct to DVD cartoon movies) and Flash seem to be pretty much the same as before.Last edited by madmarva; Jul 1, '15, 4:48 PM.Comment

I was fully on board with Geoff Johns writing Aquaman pre-and-post New 52. Unfortunately, it appears that the Powers that Be are having him focus on consulting on the film/tv/media adaptations rather than writing the monthly comics. I dropped both Aquaman and Green Lantern with his departure.Comment

They can't leave anything alone can they? The whole world wants to take traditional classic looks and ruin them.Check out my website: Megozine Covers - HomeComment
