1980 Azrak Hamway (AHI) Toy Catalog

As one of the premiere rack toy manufacturers of the 1970s, Azrak Hamway International (most commonly referred to as AHI by collectors) ended the decade with a bang featuring new products featuring their hottest licenses.

Most notably in this book are the Marvel and DC superheroes, Star Trek, KISS and the Universal Monsters.

It is truly a fun catalog loaded with my favourite toys from the era like parachuting superheroes, Mr Spock Bop Bags and ....

Superhero Pipes! You can't make this stuff up.

Good gravy, there's a lot of stuff to love, and I had/ and or have a lot of it. I have that Spidey Mystery action car, minus the partial Spidey figure and half-windshields. I'm pretty sure I had that as a very small child too.

That Frankenstein Flasher Face you're looking for reminds me a bit of Christopher Lee's creature, with it's gray skin.

I saw that Batman Road race set at a toy show once, but it didn't have any of the cars, so I didn't get it.

I'd love to get that Snoopy for my sister if anyone has one.

Wanted: Legends of the West (Empire & Excel) and other western historically-based figures. Send me an offer.
Also interested in figures based on literary characters.

I'll always love the Universal Monsters and remember the good old days of having all 5 at the same time,
where's my time machine? gotta love parachute Hulk and Hulk on motorcycle.

Wow! I had no idea any rack toys were made from the short mini series Star Fleet. The superhero motor boats are also ringing a long distant (and very faint) memory with me

Wow, looking through that catalog makes me realise just how much of that stuff I owned back then. I had a Ben Franklin store a few blocks from me, and AHI stuff was in abundance there, so I wound up with tons of this. Sadly none of it lasted long (typical rack toys!) A few things I had completely forgotten about too.

I know it's the nostalgia speaking, but cheap then looks so much cooler than cheap now.

here, here! agreed whole-heartedly. i remember the first dollar stores in the early '90's turned up the most erratic, odd lots! then came the branding of dollar trees and other chains. now, it's just humdrum cheap. (sigh)
