In my neighbourhood growing up, there wasn't a girl on it who didn't have that Wonder Woman set. Lynda Carter's influence ran deep...For more Fashion Mockery and 70's toy love visit us at Plaid Stallions.com
But you know the girls got gypped, right? The only accessory was a golden lasso jump rope? Sure they got a tiara and bracelets, but not other cool stuff you could play with!

The Batman belt represents the first time my fanboy snobbery overruled the kid in me. I couldn't abide Batman's redneck belt buckle. It didn't look Batman's belt from the comics, or TV show.
The Spider-Man belt was close enough to his comic version for me, so I did have that one. I know, I know, splitting hairs...but tell that to five-year old me.
I totally get the "snobbery." One thing that used to get to me at a young age were the Halloween costumes that depicted the character on the vinyl and didn't have the outfit, as the hero wore. I seem to remember the Spider-man costume was closer to his comic outfit instead of a full-figure illustration of him web-slinging.

On the plus side, you could use that jump rope as a whip. Smack whatever kid was annoying you at the time in the head with it.
Yeah, somehow I never cared that they didn't match the comic look. Didn't have the snobbery. In fact, I always liked Spider-Man's look with an additional belt. Liked it in the Hammond series. Liked it on the Diamond Select figure.

I don't know--looking at it now, it's the best of the lot. Sure, maybe you could add a star-spangled boomerang, but bracelets and a multi-purpose lariat? Pretty sweet.
