Did not love Godzilla 2014

Just watched Godzilla 2014 on cable

First, it took forever for him to show up ...

Second, his presents seemed to be shoe-horned in as an afterthought for a different movie.

Third, his ROAR was a direct ripoff of the T-Rex from Jurasic Park.

Question --- why did this movie get great reviews ???.

I liked it.
It was a lot like the original, where G was slowly introduced, because it was the first movie. It was nothing like the Emmerich abomination, which actually was a Jurrasic Park rip-off.
G also kicked butt in his scenes (I liked the tail swat a lot).

I did feel Brian Cranston should have cooked a big batch of meth to make G chill out and relax...

I actually never seen the 2014 Godzilla yet, sounds like I should skip it?
was it better or worse then the Broderick version? if it was worse I will definitely
skip seeing it, I thought that version was terrible.

No comparison to the Broderick version -- that was just stinky rotting garbage

I thought they did a good job paying homage to the original but I also think they took too long building up the plot and showing the big G. definitely worth watching and I did find after a second viewing I liked it even more

ps, I liked he Broderick movie for what it was, not for what it wasn't. definitely not a good Godzilla but still a fun monster destroying NYC movie

I was not happy with the filming part. They should keep cutting away from the action at time.

The movie bored me to tears. The supposed star shown in the trailers was killed 30 minutes in. Zilla never really showed up until the last 40 minutes. Most of the film was about another creature that made me yawn. And when you thought Zilla might have been killed, I thought they went too far trying to make it look like ground zero from 9/11. There wasn't anything that made it the critics darling it seem to be.
