Red Hood Update Joker Alter Ego

So here is an update to how Red hood is coming out

All that is left is his box and his dome.
MegoKnight gave me a great idea for his dome.

Might be a while for his box ToyRoom is a little backed up.

I'm thinking of changing his cummerbund from black to purple.

They are Plastic Man and Dr. Doom. Plastic Man is a retro Shazam with his red body suit cut at the legs and elbows. He is wearing a retro Captain Cold belt and his glasses are made from a white elastic band and black marker. Dr. Doom is a vintage Dr. Mc Coy with a Marvel Famous Covers outfit and head. These 2 guys should hopefuly be carded soon as I still have some minor adjustments to do before they are ready. Its good to be back.

Jack Napier (AKA Joker)?

Ok Kids - I need some help with this one.

First off - I'm not even certain the Jokers alter Ego is really Jack Napier that was just what they called him in BTAS
Some even say the red hood could be his alter ego

If anyone knows his comic book Alter ego name - please let me know. To my knowledge in the comics they never said what his real name is/was - just that his wife was killed and he went insane.

Normally - I pretty much know what I want to do with a custom figure.
I'm making this bad boy into a joker alter ego.

I was planning on doing him in a purple suit, or a gangster suit (maybe the ctv pin stripe suit)
Was wondering what you guys think would be a good look for him?

Please feel free to post any ideas. I look forward to seeing what people think, and their take on him.
The head itself is from Austin - it is painted by Dave Mc.

It looks great in person - for some reason it comes out looking like it is wet in the pictures, but it does not look that way in person.
It looks really cool. I have had this one in the works for a long time. Dave has been super busy so I just got the head back from him last week. Now it is time to finish him off.

Ghostbusters retro action figures conversion to Movie look.

Hello guys, I always thought that mattel made an odd decision in making the retro action figures in mego size, but when i saw them in person, I was really pleased with the result, but always wondered why they didn't go with the movie look. WELL, thanks to our friend *BlackKnight * (who sold me the 3 heads) I was able to have a starting point. SO I went ahead and purchased 3 of the "exclusives" Peter Venkman figures, to have the suit, then there where the other odds and ends, so I made a mold of the 12 inch radio, ecto google and pke meter, and using Hydroshrink, i was able to shrink them in mego scale, then I made the web belt using some straps from an old 1/6 backpack
Attachment 6103 (http://megomuseum.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=6103)
I made the elbow pads out of sculpey, and the gloves are from ctv... boots and black shirts.

Attachment 6104 (http://megomuseum.com/community/attachment.php?attachmentid=6104)
Now i need to add the name tags, ghost trap holster and circuit belt gizmos.... these figures are a lot of work, it's taken me more than a month to get this far....:silly:

You may have seen the thread where my son and I discuss the enlarging of heads.
That spun into ideas.

I liked how Gentle Giant did the vintage Star Wars figures using 3d scans.

Why not a hard to find Mego?
Never has something like Thor's helmet been scaled up, now it can.

Doing a figure of this kind is not easy, and rather expensive.
When you figure just the base body is $25 at CTVT,it adds up quick doing the fig in quantities.

I'm no seamstress, tried and tried just ain't there yet.
But, I did find material really close to what seems to be what Mego used for their capes.
I bought a bunch and sent it off to our own Brian Leitner and y'all know his vision and work is top notch.

Here's some progress shots and more to come.

Making custom Mego dolls is such a fun hobby. I had the bodies and outfits ready to go on these guys, when batjimi came up with the perfect heads to finish them off.
Golden Age Superman=
batjimi: head.
DrMego: swivel arm buff body and fist hands.
CTVT: bodysuit, shorts, belt, boots and cape.
Golden Age Batman=
batjimi: head
DrMego: Male body, bodysuit, and shorts.
pmwasson: cape.
CTVT: gloves, belt and boots.
All they need now, golden age style emblem stickers and custom window boxes. :)

With the whole conversation of new tech tools. This is a very exciting year.
I upgraded shop with a new tool. Not quite as cool as the printers but I'm stoked about it. Printer is next on the list. :)
Any wisdom from the resident tech guys would be welcomed. Still learning, but excited about the possibilities.
The new tools available are great and long awaited for. Like you guys. I have waited for years for this to come to light.
It's like Star Trek A bold new world.

My (hobby) business partner and I got a new 3D printer called the B9 Creator.

I'm pretty happy with the results so far:

Image: http://i.imgur.com/kXGCpOk.jpg

The Iron Man head on the left is too small for Mego and the one on the right is too big, although the neck plug works perfect on both. Hopefully the next head I print out will be just right!

I will bring some samples to Mego Meet to compare with noelani72 & Legend of Link's results.
