Hey all,

I am getting ready to order artwork to make some new playsets. This may be the last batch I do for awhile. I expect it will take a few months to fill any these orders--probably not until January or February. I have just started a new, fairly demanding job and with the busy family holidays coming up I don't see myself doing a lot of work the rest of the year.

So that's right, I am saying if you want a playset it might take a really long time to get it and you need to put in a deposit now. Brilliant marketing strategy, yes?

I have my new Planet of the Apes deluxe set (http://megomuseum.com/community/showthread.php?t=32857), Legion of Doom (http://www.didadisplays.com/product/lod/) and King Arthur's Castle (http://www.didadisplays.com/product/castle/). Deposits are $60 for the Apes and Knights, $25 for the LOD.

PM any questions or email service@didadisplays.com

Thanks!

The time is finally here to reveal the painted head sculpt prototypes for the Buck Rogers line! I've also updated the news section of the website.

Image: http://i30.photobucket.com/albums/c342/ccarl1968/Forum%20Items/BuckRogersHeadssmall.jpg

As you can see I'm going for much more detail than what would have been done back in the MEGO days. This same attention to detail will also be given to the outfits and accessories.

The production samples finally arrived today and I wanted to share some pics. Here are some comparison shots of the Z-Body and an original MEGO body. Unfortunately there are some issues that still need to be addressed which means it will not be available before the end of the year.

My buddy thought he was doing me a favor by grabbing a stack of CTVT's female bodies from eBay or somewhere on the Net because I like fixing them and making them workable for customs.

I opened the plastic bag and to my horror, they have no neck stems. Just holes where the stem should be.

Anybody know what I should do that would work? Does anybody sell something that can go into these holes so I can put heads on these bodies?

Just asking. All thoughts welcomed.

CTVT Fat Body Problem

I just got a bunch of CTVT figures and most of the stuff was pretty decent, though naturally, there was plenty of flash, some broken (and soon to be broken) parts which I expected, prepared myself for and see no reason to whine about given the low price, but the fat body figure I received had an interesting problem that I'm hoping somebody here has encountered before. Can anybody tell me how to deal with the floppy (as in CANNOT STAND INDEPENDENTLY) leg problem that seems to be inherent with this type of figure. Or is it? Did Mego use shorter rubber cords for the original fat body design (so the legs would actually have enough tension in them to enable the figure to stand independently)? I have a Mego Boss Hogg on card with the vintage fat body, but I've never freed him from his cellophane coffin. Is there a way to tie or otherwise tighten the rubber cords inside? Anybody dealt with this particular customizing problem before? Thanks!

Check this out....Another fine catch

I went into a Deal$ store out of all places and low and behold as to my dismay I seen a bunch of these Chronicles of Narnia action figures. The figures looked really cool so they caught my attention. $5.00 a pop is not to bad when you consider Marvel is currently fetching around $8 to $9.00 for a 3.75" figure and Mattel is wanting to set the retail price at $20.00 each for a new Mego figure.

Here is what one of the figures looks like...

Image: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn184/livnxxxl/2009/11%20November%2009/DSC09363.jpg

With 20 points of articulation and removable armor at a steal of a price. The best part is the accessories....The shield, the sword, the sword holder, gauntlets and more.

Image: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn184/livnxxxl/2009/11%20November%2009/DSC09390.jpg

Needless to say....I cleaned the pegs...I spent almost $150.00 on these figures. There was many and there are multiple figures as seen in the picture with the back of the card shown below.

Image: http://i304.photobucket.com/albums/nn184/livnxxxl/2009/11%20November%2009/DSC09365.jpg

I have not even begun to open up some of the other figures yet to see what kind of accessories can be utilized for Mego's.....more on this later.....

There just does not seem to be enough time in my day.

I am thinking of collecting the Mego Flash Gordon line as i think these figures are really great and there is something about them makes me want to get them.
