The trade-off when your spouse spends half the month in Japan on business, is that she comes home with goodies. To her credit, not only traversing across the language barrier, but wading into the equally foreign land of Otaku culture.

Fortunately, her offices are located near Akihabara, and tall blonde women are apparently given more leeway within the otherwise rigid societal protocols of Tokyo. Walking around the streets drinking a cup of coffee is her major act of western defiance, after liberating it from the confines of a cup with a taped lid, placed into a box that is then stapled into a brown bag when you ask for it "to go" at Starbucks in Japan.
