    NY Wintercon

Ran across this new con on Facebook. Happening this weekend in Queens (so close to me).
Noticed Figures Toy Company listed on their vendors page, so may go check it out.

Wow, I didn't know they did cons. If you go, post a report.

Pretty sure they are just saying the vendors will have items from the companies listed.

Either that, or apparently Mego is going to be there too.
Expectation is the death of discovery.

Got over there Saturday. It was worth the trip (for me). Entirely a vendor con, No company displays. Tons of Cosplay (YaYa Han was there and had a big line) Celeb wise they didn’t have much. Dante from Clerks and the Last Dragon guy. Neal Adams in the artist section has a couple people around the table. Toy wise a couple guys had decent deals. Scored some large NECA figures for the kids. One guy had a large amount of megos but way over priced and not in the greatest shape. Bummed I didn’t see one FTC fig. Very family friendly ecept for 2 floors down at the casino no one under 18 on the floor.

Scored some great deals on comics. Trying to finish up my missing Walking Dead issues and a couple of 66 variants.

News around the con is they already have next year booked and they are going with a Star Wars theme with the movie coming out.

I went too and had a good time. Met Neal Adams and got his autograph on a few of the prints . Good comics all around . Did see the Megos, but no FTC :(

Attended one panel on Marvel history, which was interesting but sabotaged by bad sound system.
Would definitely go again, it was definitely better than wading through crowds at NY Comiccon and paying 3-4 times more to get in. (I've done Ny comiccon a few times, but it's getting so if s it worth it anymore)
