    The MAC Commando/Rescue Team

This ad from 1976 makes me happy, Matchbox MAC (Mobile Action Command) was a really fun series of figures and vehicles that are unfairly forgotten. MAC never gave kids any back story (much like the Metal Men) and let their imaginations run wild.

Below is the link to the 1977 MAC catalog, enjoy!

I don't think I've ever seen these guys out in the wild, but maybe I've just looked over them. This stuff looks amazingly fun. With that size, they seem somewhat like a forerunner of M.A.S.K.

Loved MAC when I was a kid. I remember playing with the Wing Thing till it broke, then mom bought me another and played with that one till it broke! Good times...

I had quite a few of these sets as a kid. I think there must have been a big retail push here in Canada as I recall getting some for my birthday in October and again for Christmas that year. Must ahve been just the right price point for Polish aunts and uncles buying for their least liked, bratty born in Canada nephew

Except for posts here, I'd never heard of them either. However, I am pretty sure I once had that mountain, only it was stripped down to just the "rock" structure. When I was 4 or 5 (1979 or 1980), my grandmother took me (and my sister & cousin) to a thrift store, where she was getting scraps for quilts. I found this rocky structure, and she got it for me, even though I knew the set was barebones. I used it for the next couple of years with my Legends of the West figures as part of the landscape, until we moved (which was in 1981, the reason I've got these estimated dates in my head), and my mom decided we wouldn't move the mountain with us. I am about 90% certain this was what it was from but couldn't have IDed it until now.

Wanted: Legends of the West (Empire & Excel) and other western historically-based figures. Send me an offer.
Also interested in figures based on literary characters.
