Annual Halloween Model project: The Creature!

Our own Brian inspired me and the boy to work on a model kit each year for Halloween. We've done Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy and the Wolfman, and now...The Creature from the Black Lagoon!

The Creech's colors vary wildly on products, but I went mostly by actual color pics of the original suit from Life archive photos. I noticed the Gillman had a goldfish-like sheen to him, so we went to town drybrushing it on.

Thanks to our own Rob, aka Godzilla for the kit! We had a lot of fun working on it!

Great job! I NEVER tire of seeing other paint ups on the classic Auroras.

That looks great! I started some Shogun Warrior models with my kids, but we're not done yet. October was crazy busy.

Awesome sauce, due to my travel schedule, we didn't get to a model this year. Nice to see the Franklins kept the tradition alive!

Thanks guys. Andrew now has a bookshelf literally full of these monsters. It's a neat sight. I'll take a pic when I get the chance.

That's just good parenting done right.

You never know when an Aurora model might save your life.

Love the Aurora kits. You did an awesome job.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
