Official World Famous Super Monsters Bend 'Ems King Kong

I think it's safe to say my favourite line of bendy figures are the AHI Bend 'Ems for the Super Monsters line. So I was pretty excited to pick up this missing character from my collection, the one and only King Kong. AHI put a lot of fun into these and I especially love the added detail of a little Fay Wray in his hand.

    I don't think that's Fay Wray...I'm pretty sure it's her sister Janice.

The start of a great run by AHI. Truly classic figures in every way.

There's just something so oddly appealing about AHI's stuff, especially since it looks like both the package and figure were designed by a 10 year old. Maybe that's why it's so appealing?

Kong looks like he needs a bra!

I think that's it. I don't think it's an intentional artistic effort as much as it was a knock-it-out cheap philosophy. Intention aside, it does feel like AHI just unapologetically embraced who they were and what they did.

BTW, the Fay Wray/Janice detail is absolutely what makes this figure.

I like the friendly looking Kong on the card art. The toy is kinda creepy looking though. Zombie Kong. Yikes.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

A nice little photo which I believe is the Ben Cooper jiggler.

I remember having this and cutting off the girl Kong is holding and having him fight the bendy Godzilla, while crashing thru my
little plastic green army soldiers and tanks.
