Well It is a couple of weeks later than I started being a pest Last year (Sept 7 ) to be exact lol

I thought with today being the beginning of the end of the Summer and the gloom of Winter about to set in on us Northerners lol, I would start the thread that gets us all Excited for the Ids of March and Springtime... Dare I say it!!!

I'm as excited as you are dude. I'm just coming off the buzz of Mego North (which we moved from January) and I'm feeling the long winter until Mego Meet. Hoping the MegOhio guys can give me an excuse to make a road trip. How about Mego Bronx? 8)

I know Vinny026 has been trying to to put something together for this area, Lord knows there are enough of us in the tri state area, I guess its all about Timing and time of year. Doc tried to put something together at Eternal Con out in Long Island but the Timing just wasn't there, it's the weekend right after Mego Meet, I went in 2013 and it was just ok, and last year was just ehhhh... If we were to pull it off it would have to be in the outer boroughs... The Bronx, Brooklyn, Queens or SI, but Manhattan would be out of the question,Too Expensive even for me.

But in the Meantime 253 days and counting lol

There are stages of excitement for me. On that front, it's a bit early for movement. But it goes like something this...

1-Annoucement of the event is made and I book the Hotel and buy my registration.

2-Once I confirmed I send an E-mail to my bosses at work securing the days is advance since vacation time is not available to be entered until the New Year.

3-New years comes and first chance I get my vacation is entered. Then the real countdown begins.

My only concern is we recently merged with another company. Very little integration has happened yet, but I know that won't last. Hoping to get my days in before the craziness (right now expected to be February starts and it won't interfere with my plans.

2015 could be challenging for me due to my job change and no vacation time. I'll do my best to come with Sean again, maybe carpool with Boss for fun. Fingers crossed time off work goes in my favor. I'd sure hate to miss it.

Oh yeah, I'm jazzed for this. I did feel like I adopted an unwanted city in Wheenling each Summer, but it's time to let them go. This is going to be a nice, fresh start to the Meet andd open up a bunch of new possibilities. It's quite a bit longer of a drive for me, but it will be so worth it. Of course having the Kruger Street basement for free was a nice setup, but this new venue will upgrade everything. And, having the show in the same place we are staying is the best thing we've ever done.

Hi guys. I've been on the boards for awhile, but I've not been to a Mego Meet. I've been working in Afghanistan since 2012. Good chance that I will be ending my assignment and returning to the USA in time to attend this summer's Meet. The Skokie location will be great for me because it should be in driving distance. Really looking forward to it!

I can't wait for Mego meet! I got a room and plane tickets for me and my son and with the new Chicago location, I don't think he'll have to miss any school this year.

Aside from helping some other people with their offerings I plan to have a few new things this year. I been experiment with some new materials so hopefully I'll have something different this year in addition to the usual offerings. I'll post more closer to the event.

Happy to say while I am taking a break this month due to a vacation, I am more than 50% saved with my "cash on hand" MM funds., not included back up back money. Looking forward to seeing everyone hopefully bringing back a special piece (or two)>

Hit a couple of bumps in the road, after (and still being over 50% saved), car needs brakes and cabin fever has gotten the best of me so I scheduled a few other things before MM. In the past April & May were "lockdown months" but work has been so crazy not having anything to look forward too until June isn't happening. That said I expect to have my original goal or close to it as far as funds.

My #1 want this year is a 1976 carded Supergirl. I would also be cool with a 77 pin pin if the price was right. Two reasons #1 I had the opportunity to get one last October but was not prepared and there was no way for me to pull it off. #2: There is no factory "stand in" For example I'm Ok with FTC Riddler, Catwoman and Wonder Woman for now because they bear a resemblance to the originals. If I got a Catwoman or Riddler I don't see an issue selling the FTC versions since there's a decent pool of potential buyers. Unfortunately when FTC did the Superman wave they moved away from the classic Mego style card so I have no stand in in. Sorry Kev, I know you hated carded figures :silly:

#2-US carded Thing. I have the other three FF on US cards no 'nuff said there. Whether I'll have enough left if I find SG is another matter.

#3-Boxed Conan or Isis: I need only three boxed figures to finish my run. Shazam is easy and these two are tough.

Depending on what funds I have left I may go for some of the easier pieces I still need or like carded Hulk, Isis or boxed Shazam.

I'm probably going to buy up a ton of remego like FTC and venture bros. My main goal this year collecting wise is a complete set of Magnificent Team. That has been a grail of mine for a while but I haven't found a seller with all 12 figs. I much prefer to buy all at once instead of piecemeal.

I will be in Skokie Wednesday afternoon and will either just chill in my room or venture out with Austin or go hit up Arts store. After the last four months I've had I need this more than ever.
