    Favorite Horror/Sci-Fi Posters?

as a graphic artist, i am of course obsessed with great movie posters. there are a ton of 'em where the movie was a let-down, but the poster just kicks butt.

my all-time fav poster, hands-down, is this:

...the movie itself is fine, but it doesnt live up to the poster. but in my mind, no movie could! brilliantly conceived and executed. if i had seen this poster as a kid, i would've thought this was THE MOST EXCITING MOVIE EVER.

    another great one:

...i saw this and said I HAVE TO SEE THIS MOVIE. thanks to my Dad, i did.

plus it has Adrienne Barbeau topless, so bonus points for that.

Those are some great posters! I remember seeing the Swamp Thing poster advertised in concurrent DC comics. Of course my parents wouldn't take me to the movies to see it, since I was such a weiner then about horror movies, but I did catch it's debut at HBO at my grandparents' house. I convinced them it was okay because it was a based on a comic. How it ever got a PG rating, I'll never know!

That House on Haunted Hill one is pretty disturbing really. you almost don't notice Vincent has a severed head in his hand!

Oh, and my favorite Trek poster (and one of my favorite Trek movies):

Those are all great I loved the swamp thing poster as well+ the forbidden planet.
But I think my all time fav has to be Army of Darkness.
It did not disappoint me everything on the poster happened in the film ,
it was just a classic 50's horror type poster simply cool in my opinion.

Solent green and the warriors come to mind, and anything with a monster/robot/alien with a sexy woman is super hot

Not so much a specific poster, but definitely a certain style for me, like most of the above examples: I love those old painted/drawn posters. I don't even care if it's for the worst movie ever, but I love those posters.

I agree about the painted old style posters.

What everyone think about the Aqua Teen Huger force movie poster? I love the fact the animation looks like crap but the movie poster was done in the classic style.
