    The Spirit post Darwyn Cooke

I got the first post Cooke issue this week. I must say it is actually a more enjoyable book. The pacing, humor and art are a bit more Eisner like. I was worried the new team would have to make it feel a bit more like Miller's upcoming movie. And its nice to see Mike Ploog doing some work.

Cool! I'll be picking it up today. Sergio Aragones is one of the writers, right?

I really liked the one story, that had all the thugs in suits, and the Spirit snuck in and was following along with the group - until the leader realized that he didn't have any thugs who wore that size. The other ones were just ok. I miss Darwyn Cooke's artwork.

Wasn't Ploog an assistant to Eisner at one time? I think that's why he was chosen. I love Mike's work he's a Great storyteller. Issue #14 was actually very good and a good choice to follow Cooke. How long it'll last not sure but I'm gonna enjoy the run in the meantime.

^^ The current solicit has Paul Smith on art, so maybe Ploog won't last long.

Evanier and Aragones are great, out-of-the-box-thinking choices to write the book. they capture the Eisner tone pretty well.

i'd love to see the book have rotating artists, since the stories are pretty much self-contained. Dave Stevens would've been a great choice.... *sigh*
