Was there a change in RM Robins mask

The RM Robin i received has a narrow almost rectangular mask, all the pictures i have seen show him with a more rounded mask.

I know with mine, I had to take the original off because the mask was beginning to tear at the point where the elastic band is stitched to the mask. The material does not appear to be strong enough to hold up under the stress of the band wrapped around the head. So I took it off before it broke completely and replaced it with the rubber masks you can order from FTC's sister website Classic TV Toys. I had to cut the top of the mask down some, but it will do. I don't want the original breaking and I doubt FTC can send me a replacement.

Mines got the smaller one also, its narrow and doesn't come down the cheeks as much.

Same with mine too. For me it was too small. He might as well have been wearing Nascar shades. Really no masking to him. I know my replacement is still sporting it too big, but I'll be working to trim it down some more and see if I can get it to a satisfying place.

Finally got the bottom and sides where I want them. I'm pretty happy with the mask now.

I got smaller mask on my 1st RM Robin, too and I am disappointed! RM Robin should have included his original CLOTH BELT but not to get his MASK right? My LEAST favorite of Wave 3!

I took a X-Acto knife and cut a thin slice out on the top and then along the loops on the bottom. Believe it or not, if you have any rough edges from the cuts, you can smooth it out, quickly and effectively, with a sanding sponge.

That looks pretty good, MIB. A definite improvement over what it came with.

Wonder how that mask would work as a replacement for Gabriel's Lone Ranger? Maybe too tight but appearance-wise it looks pretty close to the original.

I got mine today and was thinking the same thing about the skinny mask. I thought it was going to look like MIB41's pic above^.
I am not disappointed, just a little baffled.

As a matter of fact, CTVT's site still has the pic I remembered seeing before I bought one:

My next question is...
I bought my RC Batman and RM Robin from WBShop.com, and the pic showed the cloth cape. CTVT used to show the cloth cape and then it changed.
Did anyone get the cloth cape?
