Lots of Micronaut photos and commentary by AcroRay

Heya, Gang! I'm plugging a Flickr photo gallery I've started, featuring images of my rare Micronaut and Micronaut-related items, with extensive commentary. Prototypes, original art, lots of stuff. Please have a look, and leave comments if you like!

          Awesome Ray.
I love the obscure Micronauts information and offshoots, especially the Lords of Light.

looks great. you ned to do a micronauts book of some sort. Lord knows there's 50 star wars books, 40 star trek books and endless MEGO/superhero related books out there. we need a good, single topic book for micronauts. Just use a main stream publishers where it gets to the large book chains

I didn't realize that the Topen prototype head was so raw. Wow, thanks for posting those, Ray!!!

Ray, I just noticed that your blue Cires Armroid (second photo, lower right) has a cannon in lieu of a right arm. Is he incomplete?

If so, I'll have to check my parts stash. I seriously have a series of Series 1 Cires parts

                ;-)

Although my silver Series 2 Cires is incomplete. Anybody have extras???

                  Wow, those are terrific!

                  Love the Crystal Robotman.

                  And the prototypes.

                  And, well, all of it!

Nah, its complete. The Armroid is standing next to the AcroPlane at his feet. I just decided to give the Giant Acro a big cannon for one arm! Thanks for the kind offer of help, though!

Very, VERY nice collection. I have been selling off my Star Wars & Mego superheroes stuff on Ebay to try to make ends meet. I had plans to eventually sell all my Micronauts, but that will be a last resort. I just loved these as a kid, and still think they are some of the coolest toys that I have ever seen. What is your opinion of the quality of all the newer "reproduction" figures?

Yeah, he does look kinda cool that way. If anybody else needs Inter-changeables parts, please feel free to drop me a line as I do have a large cache of spares.

Sorry - the above was in response to Acroray's photos. As for Leeman13's question, I think Ray is more qualified to provide an in-depth answer that than myself in regards to the "newer 'reproduction' figures".

But generally speaking, the Series 1 figures were unfortunate victims of a common, shady manufacturing deal in mainland China. Series 1.5 was a good-hearted effort to rectify that QC problem, and Series 2 truly contained some fantastic figures despite a few glitches and some garish transparent color combinations (IMHO).

I for one was thrilled to see new Palisades Micro figures on retail shelves again 20 years after Mego's demise.
