Bit of Good News Regarding the Incredible Hulk Movie

I just read a link from Super Hero Hype an interview with Louis Letterier about the Incredible Hulk Movie to be made and release next year.

1: It will NOT be a sequel to the Ang Lee and Eric Bana movie. Whew!!!
That Hulk movie sucked big time!!!

2: The Hulk will be 9 feet tall and will NOT grow bigger when he gets angrier. Thank God and Greyhound!!! That was one of the most stupid things that Ang Lee did with that movie.

The given synopsis was found on the Super Hero Hype link and on
    Comics Continuum. Check it out.

    Cheers.

I easily coulda dealt with the "more angry, more size" angle, as it fits
the Hulk's persona of "the madder he gets, the stronger he gets" just
fine for a movie-----problem is I really didn't think that movie was good
---I actually hated sitting through it----so they coulda had it
"true true true" to the comics and it wouldn't've mattered anyway

Sounds like this new one will be better

Then again, seems like not that hard of a job

      Looking forward to it

I didn't mind Eric Bana as the Hulk, though the movie over-all was a bit of a shmozzle.(sp?) He lives around the corner from me actually, see him out walking his dog occaisionally, he's always seemed like a good guy.

I didn't see it in the theatre, but I did watch some of it on cable. It was really hard to sit through. I'm sorry, I just don't groove on this CGI stuff for these movies. Watching that Hulk was like watching one of these new video games. That's why I like the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno version. It may be low tech, but it looks more plausible.

The biggest problem that I had with the first Hulk movie was the "dark" scenes.

I thought the acting was pretty good in the Ang Lee version. To me, that wasn't what made the movie bad and I have nothing against the cast. In fact, I think they are all fine actors. However, when a movie is that disappointing, it is probably best to reboot and that includes recasting the roles.

Probably a good idea to (as saildog said so well) reboot and start over. I am one of the few that didn't HATE the film. Actually, I would have quite enjoyed it had it not been for the Nick Nolte father character and ending. Ugh!

The story was definitely the weak link in that movie. I think we all would have been a lot more forgiving, and maybe awestruck, with the CGI if it had been used in conjunction with a story that felt more like a comic of graphic novel, instead of some poorly written attempt at Shakepearean drama.

I agree with Shadow Avenger: the dark tone of the film displeased me. I also didn't like the dramatic license with the Nick Nolte character.

Especially irksome to me: the comic book-like scene transitions. The first few were cool and I liked that Ang Lee was trying to keep a comic feel there, but after a while, it got annoying to me.

Oh, and I didn't like them blowing up the frog at the beginning!

I guess I'm in the minority too... IMO, i found Hulk more interesting to watch than the X-Men ( i only tried watching one and fell asleep), that awful daredevil film or the fantastic four. It wasn't a great movie by any means (no Spidey or Batman Begins), but as far as superhero movies go (most are hard for me to watch) at least it kept my attention. Albeit a bit clumsy at times, It had a certain atmosphere/subtlety that is lacking in most hero flicks. Call me crazy, but movies with non stop action usually make me tired......

Didn't like it. Hope the "reboot" gets it right,

It looks like I will forever remain in the minority for unabashedly loving that movie! It probes deep psychological depths, features awesome desert action sequences, and has style to spare!

And I don't understand the objection to Hulk growing larger and stronger with increased anger. The 1986 Berni Wrightson/Jim Starlin Graphic Novel 'Hulk vs. Thing' -- which is hilarious and highly recommended -- uses this concept to stunning effect. I thought it was Marvel canon circa the 1980s.

But either way, I'm looking forward to the Norton version!
