My Office Caught Fire- So I'm At Work!

An ironic aspect to my work, but a fire at our TV studios is big news. A light blew in our studio right as the 11pm show was going to air and caught the set on fire. We were completely off-the air for 2 hours while smoke filled the first four floors of our building.

Its out and it stinks in here, but news is news. I just finished doing interviews with the other stations and the local papers. I expect to be up all night.

THE BIG NEWS, HOWEVER, is the micronauts, 70's Marvel calendar and power records I have in my office were saved. They may have some smoke issues, but they are OK.

Pretty scarry news! I hate to admit it but the first thought in my head was I hope all the cool things in Bill's office are ok. When it should have been I hope everyone is ok. Glad to hear things are ok on both counts. Sorry to hear this Bill.

      Links to the stories...

WABC-TV/Channel 7 went dark for more than two hours last night when a fire at its Upper West Side studios knocked it off the air minutes before the 11 p.m. newscast. “One of the set lights bl…

Glad everyone is safe Bill, and the vintage toys and stuff. :D

An obvious case of making your own news on a slow news day.

Glad you and everyone else are ok over there at WABC, too!

Last night, my wife was watching the news (some other station). The breaking story was the fact there was a fire at WABC's studios and that the station was off the air. I didn't know you worked there, but I'm sure glad everything is going to be all right.
