Batman 66 has no hands!

Hey,
I got my FTC '66 Batman set for my birthday, and Batman's hand fell off before I even opened the clamshell.
Here's what I found:

There is a ball at the wrist socket, and inside the glove is not a hand but a hole for the ball.
He does not have a separate hand, or separate glove. It's all one. Totally not like a Mego at all. I am not going to undress him, but the body looks a little different than the current new bodies that CTVT is selling.

Here's a pic that I adjusted the shadowing so you can see the hole in the glove hand better:

Some folks like this "new" hand better. I still prefer the old mego style with actually gloves and boots to take on and off. I must admit this new style allows for a better looking hand and feet though. The rubbery feet do limit Batman and Robin's ability to maintain a pose without taking an occasional dive to the floor

I think thats ok, as we are getting them both in thier normal attire in the next wave. The only comment or suggestion I can make, is that hopefully they provide us with a open hand for both figures in the accesory pack.

^ Open hand is a nice suggestion for a next accessory pack. They could also include the other fisted hand, just for balance.

To me the new gloves and boots are enough of an improvement to not worry about not having actually hands and feet. If other figures are designed in this manner, they would still be interchangeable. I hope the new figures use the same design if we get better looking boots and footwear.

It would be great to have accurate Superman boots, GL gloves with a power ring. The door is opened to much more accurate versions of the characters, which I'm all for.

Will be interesting to see if they do this with the 'new' figures in the 'Mego' line such as Gordon, Scarecrow, Ras, etc. I could see something like this being an extension or what Mego would have attempted doing if the line had continued. Such as going from ovenmits to molded plastic gloves on Teen Titans and Fantastic Four. To me that's where this line has a chance to really be historic, if they can give us sculpts and figures that are not only characters Mego would have likely made, but in the evolving style they would have likely used.

Actually, I wasn't sure if I'd even open him, but the hand fell of when I stood the clamshell upright.
All along I thought they had created really cool new gloves for Batman and Robin.
That's alright though. They are display only anyways.
