Is there any chance that EMCE would reproduce the Mego 9" Flash Gordon figures in the 8" scale?

Yeah, they'd probably do better with Ming than Big Bang Pow did. :ugh_y:

I'd prefer EMCE to do these as I have fears of Castaway's Captain Action line just making their Flash Gordon, if they make one, in the white spacesuit.

Those fears would be un-warranted:smiley3:
We want things new and different ourselves. I have never liked the CA version of Flash Gordon. Jason and I actually discussed this with the CA folks, and if we did do it as a costume it would not be the traditional CA FG. Since we have the Phantom license through King Features, this is a real possibility as is Mandrake the Magician or Prince Valiant... Remember we are making stand alone characters as well as Captain Action... Have a little faith:silly:

I'd have no personal interest in Flash Gordon,.. unless it had The Movie characters Likeness.
Interesting. A Defenders of the Earth style Flash would be nice, and either an 8" Buster Crabbe Flash or a movie version would be nicer still.
I've no real interest in the white spacesuit version or anything form the new tv series.

I think that would be an awesome idea,I never could understand the size differance between the original ones.

Why don't we all pitch in $ and buy up a cool license for EMCE?

^^^ Sounds like Castaway already has a foot in the door on Gordon and the other King Features characters.

If someone was to do a line of QUALITY mego-like figs based on the artwork of (one of my top 5 artistic heroes and biggest inspirations) godlike genius Alex Raymond's comic strip A) they would have a cornucopia of awesome character designs to choose from, and B) I would forever be in their debt and would love them forever (from afar or up close, their choice)

Wasn't it something like Mego said that the 9" scale was easy to work with and create things for? That worked out well for them. :juggleyes_y:
Dave:
That was a great response.
I have been looking at Moonstone and King Features and there's some great possibilities.
I knew it was only a matter of time before someone hopped on with a smaller comic company.
I am not sure abouyt Mandrake but " Prince Valliant " that's an idea whose time has come!! That idea might be seriously underated, I like that.
Dammit between you and Paul I may have to start to sell major organs to keep up

Flash Gordon would be great because Mego did them and didn't quite get the scale right: "Unless you want to put them with your Playmates Star Trek collector dolls or your Excel Authentic Replica displays."

Well if you could find about 100 interested people it would probably be about $250- $500 a piece. A good license from an active property should be between $25,000 and $50,000. Some of the less popular licenses should be in the $10,000-$15,000 so that would be $100 to $150 each. If the licenses weren't so expensive everyone would be producing stuff left and right.

Well as long as it isn't movie flash. I thin they just put out a movie Flash and Ming 7 inch. Never could get into that movie as much as I wanted to. They guy that played him was too wooden. The filmation cartoons were great and the serials etc. I'd like a line based off of the original comic strips. Beautiful artwork
