Hello Hugh "huedell" here----and I just recently recieved two long-awaited
figures from my friend and hero ED NAGY

Somehow he found the time to revisit my WISH LIST for 2 figures---
(and I know its difficult for him to find time & inspiration---so I owe him huge
gratitude)
and there are some dang good pix for one of them: THE HUNTRESS

I told Ed that I thought it was a beautiful custom (of course), but I wanted to
add to that by saying to him that I thought HUNTRESS was a special
WGSH "Megoesque" custom to attempt, as her popularity seemed (to me)
to be really rooted in the Mego Era----her popularity back then in the comics
seemed pretty hot for a 3rd(?) stringer character---and her appearance
on the two LEGEND OF THE SUPERHEROES specials seemed pretty poignant.

Add to that that her costume presents more of a challenge then, say,
BLACK CANARY or ZATANNA....and, well, it makes for a very exciting
"What If?" SUPERGAL custom.

Now without further "to do"-----The pix! ENJOY!
(Thanks Ed---I love ya!) :smiley12:  :cool_y:

I gotta say, that I have no idea who the Huntress is, but I really like this doll! Very Mego-esque! Nice mask, great costume! Super job! :hokay: Are the things on her belt held on by velcro?

To give you HG (and other thread visitors) a bit more background---
Wikipedia states..."The Silver Age Huntress was Helena Wayne, the daughter
of the Batman and Catwoman of Earth-Two, an alternate universe
established in the early 1960s as the world where the Golden Age stories
took place."

And, yes, even though the HUNTRESS character hasn't been quite popular
enough for someone who didn't know much about superheroes to recognize
her throughout the years, she indeed HAS been popular enough for DC to
scoop her out of her alternate Earth-2 reality some times over the years to
shoehorn her intriguing character into "our" Earth stories----such as that
LEGENDS special made in the 70s-----or as JLU did a few years ago when
they made her a part of the JL (changing her name and history so as to
remove any blood relation to Batman and Catwoman)

(She was on that recent show BIRDS OF PREY too in a "normal" Earth setting,
I think)

To answer your question regarding the belt pouches---when Ed sculpts
3-D pieces for custom figures, he applies them with some kind of glue and/or
adhesive that is almost like a double-sided sticker---
(I'd guess that those kind of decorations would be too small for a velcro
application attempt)

Edited to articulate more about the adhesive(s)----and thanks to HG
and everyone for the nice comments! :)

Great Huntress. My kid's been wanting a Huntress figure and her's standing right over my shoulder telling me to get this one.

Dude. You just tormented my kid by posting that. She has been after a Huntress figure for years. I told her it was too much of an effort. Now she saw yours and I have to make one. I like how the original Huntress was approached on this figure. This is very smooth and has a "what if" mego feel to it.

Awesome my friend!

I love Huntress. Nice job. I did a newer JLU version. Had you thought about Sculpy for the mask? I like workingh with the stuff.

Always great to see Huntress

I'm not sure how Ed makes these suits, but when he does it he really nails the Mego look. She looks like something right out of the catalog.

Really dig that suit and cape. Does this guy actually screenprint his suits? I know that someone had been using alcohol-based ink cartidges and printing on the fabric with their computer, but I wasn't sure if this was the same guy or not...

Thanks everyone. It's good to see one of my customs posted again, I've just been too busy to get much done as far as customs go. Del, yes I am the one who uses the alcohol based inks. I am slowly putting together a tutorial for making the printed suits. with luck I can send it to Dave to add to the customego section soon. This one was a fun one, the cape was a pain! hope to get more finished soon.

So clean and crisp. Outstanding version of a cool character that imo got chewed up and spit out in Crisis. Ed's work always looks so cool.

Awesome figure. Huntress continues to be popular as the Earth 2 version has been brought back in the new 52 in World's Finest (actually a good book) and the modern version was recently adapted for "Arrow".
