wanted to share some of japan's version of pocket heroes made by popy back in the early 80's . the figures come in little boxes similar to the way vintage 3 3/4 inch star wars figures were packaged.

Cool Ultraman figures. They look to be a part of the same series that included the Star Wars figures Popy released during Empire Strikes Back (same "Pocket Hero" logo on the box and all). I wonder if Japanese kids were playing with those Ultraman figures along with their Boba Fett and Darth Vader figures.

Great collection! I've been looking out for these for over a year now and all I've managed to find is Ultraman 80.

Popy put out a lot of figures in that style packaging, both Japanese stuff like Ultraman, Kamen Rider and re-packaged western figures like Star Wars, Captain Power etc.
