    Just Ordered Evel.

After watching a new documentary called "Pure Evel" I bit the bullet and stopped being so cheap and ordered myself a 12" Evel in the white suit.

I can't wait to get this figure. He looks amazing in those shots.

    Anyone else pre-order him yet?

What is this "Pure Evel" new documentary you talk about? I haven't heard of it.
I want to order the new figures, but I haven't yet.

Looking forward to a review on the 12 inch Evel. That was the one I was thinking about.

My brother burned it for me. It's a new documentary that tells a lot of behind the scenes stuff about Evel I hadn't saw before. Also lots of cool shots of Ideal's toy.

I recorded that. I think I'm gonna hold off. Until FTC releases a motorcycle to go w/ him, (even just for display purposes), I think I'll stick w/ my Ideal, Playing Mantis, and Poof-Slinky versions.

I can't wait until someone gets him in hand and snaps a few pics next to an old mego.

              Evel arrived just minutes ago!

I went with the 8" blue version. When I rip him from the package, I will take some pics for you. But suffice to say, the costume looks high quality, the headsculpt is nice, and the glove hands are a nice touch.

Ok, excuse the crappy cell pics. But I was eager to rip into these, and the wife had the good camera...

The figure comes in the same sort of resealable clam as the WGSH. The back features a nice little blurb about Evel and his exploits, and some photography.

For FTC's recent Batman figures, I could forgive the trays and twistys. They keep the figure posed nicely in the bubble, and it was easy to cut and remove the twisty tie if you so chose. Unfortunately, the helmet is UNDER the bubble here, so you can't remove the helmet without pulling off the tray and damaging the backing card. That makes the resealable clamshell packaging less cool. But oh well, I wasn't going to keep the figure in package anyhow...

The figure features a nice headsculpt and unlike some FTC figures, the head is suitably firm. I did not undress him, but I had no issues with the body. He seems to hold a pose well. The suit looks nice and is a mix of "AJ jumpsuit-like" vinyl and pleather trim. The gloved hands are cool. I think most of the detail washed out of the pics, but they look sharp. His boots are a variation on the platform shoes we have seen from FTC before, and have a rubbery feel to them.

I was about to rant about how the helmet doesn't fit the head. The head didn't seem to squeeze in enough to fit through, and even if it could somehow fit, I was sure it was have paint rubs. Then I had a fortunate mishap. I dropped the helmet and the face shield detached from the rest of the helmet. It's actually a clever design. You unclip the front face, put the helmet on, and then clip the front on. It may be obvious to others, but it wasn't to me... so I wanted to point that out.

Finally, a shot with a T1 Captain America and Brick Mantooth on a Doc swivel body for size comparison. I just grabbed a couple figures at random, but now that I think of it, that pairing seems oddly appropriate...
