Kevin Conroy Returns to Voice Over Batman for Anime DVD

I just read o http://www.comicscontinuum.com that Batman: Gotham Knight has recast the lead. Originally, Christian Bale has backed out of voicing the title character and Kevin Conroy has been cast. Finally, the definitive Batman voice over is back on familiar turf and now, I finally have a reason to look forward to this new anime treatment of Batman. Just thought I'd let everyone know.

Thats Great News Indeed.
I like the Voice in " The Batman" ,.. I have forgotten His Name,.. But that is not Batman. The voice in New Frontier was my only complaint about the movie. I have extreme issues With anything Animated Now,.. Conroy is Batman's voice to me. Anything else,.. would just Blow imo. I want him to always Be Batman's Voice..., for as long as he can be. I am so screwed in the head when it comes to his voice,.. When I read a comicbook,.. in my head. If Batman is in it,.. his lines come out as if Conroy Read them with his voice. It's lame..., I can't get it outta me head.

So he's going to do the voice in all of the different versions? Jeremy Sisto really didn't bother me in NF, I was really hoping they'd cast Adam West for it instead.

Conroy's Batman was PERFECT!! I'm glad They got Him for this Project...now I'm REALLY looking forward to it!!

Fantastic news! I have always felt like Kevin Conroy has been the definitive voice of Batman since Adam West took off the cowl in the 60's. Now I know Adam also didn't a limited run in Batman cartoons, but I think Kevin beats him for dramatic flare when it comes to a more serious interpretation. I can't wait to see the finished project!

I couldn't agree more. As for New Frontier, I felt Jeremy Sisto did a fair job and the guy in "The Batman" is named Rino Romano. But I must agree. Kevin Conroy is the best and most definitive Batman voice. I liked Adam West in terms of the Batman Lite treatment in the Filmation and Hanna Barbera shows. Either he or maybe Gary Owens could have been Batman in the New Frontier.

Its still not clear if he's doing one segment or all six. He is on the project in some capacity.

Kevin has a great tone and range with his batman and bruce wayne voice so different (much like Bud Collyer's Clark Kent and superman in the fleishers and filmation). After 16 years he has become the bat voice for mutiple generations. Not Since Alan Soule (filmation 68's & superfriends pre 70-82) did anyone lend their talent to baman as long.
